I have not been monitoring the games like I normally do. Mostly because I am not inot the NBA and college hoops for me is a little mundane and I stick to a set pattern there.

But I have been hanging out alot more lately and watching the lines and the line moves.

Mostly ML moves I should say.

In the past few days I have seen now less than 15 games where there have been 10-12 point scalps. Quite a few of them simultaneously. But I have also been loking at Pin opening numbers then watching them throughout the day. Today they have about 10 games where they could have been scalped for at least a dime. A couple are even more than that.

Granted, that involves taking a lead, but for the guys that are following hoops closely, it is a great oppurtunity for free money.

For example the Buffalo/Kent st game. That one had a simultaneous scalp at one time of -240/+248 with Bet Jamaica and SIA both. Right now Pin has +253 on Buffalo. They opened Kent St -238. That is 15 points from within. But 13 with a couple other books. Granted the 253 wasn't available then, but the evidence was there to show that the line was climbing. If I had to guess I would think it goes even higher.

Ill/Ind St is another one. There were some simultaneous 6 cent scalps between Pin and several books. And again the line has continued to spread. Pin opened +133/-145, they are now at +109/-119, so that one is 14 cents.

Seems like there are some nice gems for guys that are monitoring these lines and even nicer ones for guys taking leads. It certainly isn't the same as baseball, but there surely are more games that are moving enough.

The question is, is anyone noticing this and taking advantage?

How much can be made just scalping and whoring if you have 100 dimes to play with, and is this immorally wrong IYO?

When I say 'whoring' , I mean whoring legally, just taking the seasonal bonuses...

J Man you can make good money scalping. I don't do the bonus thing but I am sure I could get a litle extra there as well. I just do not do it. 100K is just about what you do need to make it really worth doing. Especially if you have 6-10 games a day going off that offer those kind of numbers. But it is a grind. an 8 cent scalp (aboutthe average) is only around 1.25% return. So nothing spectacular, but it is free money, and with enough money on them and enough games available it all adds up. I will take 80-100 bucks free a couple hundred times a year. If you take leads and are right enough times it can be even more than that in baseball. The thing is now adays you have t take leads. You probabaly won't find 50 simultaneous scalps these days. So taking leads and hoping to get the best of it is all part of the game. But guys can make 15-30K grinding it out. And that is free money with absolutely no risk. Some guys like to claim that is 'nothing', well those guys are high. When it is free, there is nothing wrong with it at all.

Kiss- I do have a job, sorta. That is why I am not on the computer all day everyday anymore. The gambling thing is more or less an old habit right now. It surely isn't the full time thing it was before. Not because I can't make money, but because it is so damn boring. Especially when I am not in Vegas which I haven't been in awhile now. The computer thing gets old fast. But So Cal has a lot of nice poker rooms, and that has taken up the sports slack. Easier money for the most part, and if you don't mind the people it isn't all that bad.

Easy money ? Nobody knows how to grind out a small poker profit like K1. I find Poker to be 10 times more boring than any average sports bet.

Good luck Want, muck, muck, muck, muck .... Whine :) :hump:

What can be wrong with the practice? You are just helping to maintain efficient markets much as stock traders do.

I don't think it is wrong to scalp, but scalpers need nice size chunks in books to get the job done. Pro scalpers are more at risk than rec straight bettors IMO. I know that scalpers are more prone to try the newer shops for those slow moves and unique numbers which can lead to a very bad day if a book goes under. You are looking for moderate profits so one bad stiff can offset alot of tough work quickly.
