I am getting reports out of Philly that this is not a big underdog from happening.

My friends here in Tampa from Philly have friends that work in the Eagles front office AND on the staduim crew and that is the word they are receiving.

Think they are thinking on behalf of the safety of the fans travelling in this bad weather. Would not surprise me to see an early Monday Night kick-off.

CAN ANYBODY FROM THE PHILLY AREA GIVE THEIR THOUGHTS ON THIS OR ANY INSIDE INFORMATION THEY MAY HAVE. Know we have alot of Philly based posters here.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Ahh geez, WTF happened to football, first we can't tackle quarterbacks or play rough now we can't have a snow game!??

Its not suppose to be a huge snowstorm anyway ...

I HIGHLY doubt this!

JMAN- For wagering purposes, I SURELY HOPE THE HECK NOT.

However, just going by what I am being told from what i consider reliable sources.

That is why I would like to hear some more opinions on this or if anybody knows any inside information related to this.

PS- I am sure the PACKER fans arrived safely during the ICE BOWL vs the Cowboys...........even though half of them still have frostbite scars. :)

The real reason they want to postpone the game: Donovan McNabb HATES winter weather. When it's cold or snowy he can't grip the ball and he throws it all over the place. That's why Philly loses the Championship game at home every year... because every year it's been cold as hell in Philly in late January.

Fish:

From experience, simply no way I can see a postponement unless the players and fans are in immediate danger, like with thunderstorms. Snow, rain, sleet, wind, et al will not be a reason for postponing the game. Remember the Ice Bowl. Plus, even though there is two weeks before the Superbowl, no way that one team will be given an advantage over the other. Way too much money involved in these games to postpone for even one a day. I would be absolutely shocked if a Conference Championship game was postponed. Just my thoughts.

It is not even supposed to be that cold, just below freezing with rain expected in South Jersey so I don't think cold is going to be a problem. Being a Sunday with the Birds on TV who is going to be out anyways? I seriously doubt you get a postponement.

the cincy/sd afc champ game was played with a wind chill that put the temp at -57 (as in 57 BELOW zero!). if they played that game - they sure as hell are gonna play this one, too

I would consider this story totally UNRELIABLE! The absurdity of cancelling the game because of snow flurries? Temperature in the mid 20's? The game is going to be played, GUARANTEED!

if there is a big snowstorm the NFL isnt as concerned about the playing field as they are about the 50,000 fans having to drive to and from the stadium in potentially dangerous conditions. Since this thing is still 2 or 3 days away i would say that the odds of this game being cancelled is very remote since it could always end up coming later or earlier than expected.

It will at least be warmer on Sunday than now. I can take snow, but its been too damn cold. Figures its 70 out in Vegas and I get stuck in a cold snowy place.

I am about 40 miles from the Linc, I will update the weather if needed later.
