He apparantly goes around the country telling athletes about the evils of sports gambling.

Are you guys talking about Michael Franzese? If so he is more than just some ex con. He was a capo in the Columbo family and his father Sunny is a legend in mob lore.

I would take a bit of what he says with a grain of salt because he does claim to be able to fix any event including the Rose Bowl.

After hearing about JJ Gold's ROse Bowl, I heard he approached JJ. to take a dive at his next Rec. Football game to clear the tab. I knew something was up when the coach fumbled going in for the winning TD(first fumble of his career).
