I would assume no one. Your local is illegal and can't file a claim against your estate.

Sherman: I don't think the local guy is going after your relatives. I think he'd write it off. It's too messy. Relatives may know nothing call cops etc. Otherwise it's extortion. Any tough guy shows up confronts widow, says your old man owes me 10 dimes, pay-up NOW ! I think you skate by dieing. A little revenge on the bookie ( if losing ). Only my opinion.

Thats funny, cause back in 1990, I introduced a buddy of mine to my local. He hit him for 3 dimes the first week, was down the second week over 5 dimes. Then he drops dead of a heart attack on Monday, payday is Tuesday. I get a visit from 2 guys I never know looking for 5700$ that my buddy lost. I told them the situation and I was told I'm responsible for his debt cause I turned him on to my book. I wound up piecing the 5700$ off to my local and was the last time I turned anyone onto a local.

Talked to my local last week about this. His reply, you owe me nothing and I owe you nothing. Death is Done.

That makes sense. The bookie evens out by not paying dead winners.

I can remember this story about 30yrs ago. this bookie I knew real well always carried this small pad in his back pocket. it was a list of all the people that owed him. I can remember when one of the guys that owed him died, so he reached in his back pocket and pulled the pad out, I said what are you doing, he said I am marking Ernie paid, I said do what, he said he died so I am marking down paid by death. I think if you are a big better and you bet alot of shops you should make some kind of arrangements with someone you trust. and you get all of that straight with all the shops. we never know when our time is up. its really something to think about, I know alot of people would probably say what good is the money if I am gone. it all depends how much money we are talking about, if we are talking about peanuts, then to me it really doesnt matter.

Legal Offshore Bookie Could Collect under Antiguan WTO Case

A legal offshore book could file a claim against your estate for losses on credit under the WTO case the Antiguans won. If I were the judge, I would have the family check the IP address that originated the transactions but, if that matched up with the decedent's computer, I'd have to allow (have estate pay) the claim. I would simply have no choice under International Law -- or even US Law (State & Federal anti-gambling laws have been superceded by free-trade treaties approved by Senate).

A better question might be if you guys have someone besides YOU that is aware of all your accounts in the unfortunate event of a death...

I am sure there are many who would have positive balances but not get paid because they haven't informed a family member, friend, of for that matter the sports books you do business with....

I really believe this gets so overlooked buts deserves more attention...
