Care to expand Anthony?

What is a half point worth on a college total?

What percentage of games land on or within a half of a point of the posted total in college bb?

Do you have any math to support you statement or are you simply guessing?

I have to be honest in that I am simply guessing. I would rather have the whole points when middling but most likely its a 10 cent loss.,

Hitman its great when you hit it and I hope you hit all of yours but it is a bad bet in hoops.

Anthony I'm just trying to learn what a half a point is worth on a CBB total. I know it has to be worth more than what a NBA half is worth because the totals are much lower than the NBA. I know, on average, a half is worth around 4 cents on a NBA total. I was hoping someone with the data would know for CBB.

Hitman:

When trying to middle any sport, it is not about what a point or more is worth. It is how many times you must be successful in your middle attempts to cover the vig. For instance, if you are laying 10% vig, you need to hit a middle 1 in every 20 attempts to break even. Do the math using any simple example of laying 11/10 on each middle attempt and you should see what I mean.

Hitman,

Excellent Thread!

As a rule, you need to have a 2 1/2 point spread to have a significant edge over the sports book when trying to middle hoops laying 10 cents on each one...

In your situation, you only have a 2 point difference.

Given that the totals are lower than in the NBA, I think your situation is CLOSE but I personally would NOT do it without having a 2 1/2 point variance...

And if I did do it, I would look for shops offering reduced juice, which should not be a problem in today's market...

Hitman, I know of no one that has this data for college hoops and I don't have the time to research it myself. If you haven't got the data, it is just a wild ass guess. Even though the totals are lower for college hoops I think the Stad. dev. off the # may be higher then Pro hoops, meaning you need more points. THat is a total shitass guess though.

Hoops totals are lower but it seems in general that hoops totals have a much higher variance than NBA totals. Complete bs?

In College hoops I would lay -1 or -1.5 and take +3 seven days a week. I know people that made tons of money doing it. the problem with middlers they go for all kind of middles. if you just stick with these middles only, you are pure stealing.

hitman,if you have a reduced juice book, the 144 1/2 and 146 1/2 is worth a shot imo.but only at reduced juice over time.otherwise a losing prop in college totals.if you were to say you had

76ers -2 1/2
raptors +4 1/2

I'd say 100% great shot

The time you waste looking for middles vs getting a real job is astronomical

Hitman, I show college basketball totals at a little over 5 cents per half point. So, a 2 point middle on a total at -110 both ways would be virtually break-even. 1st and 2nd half totals look to be worth about 8 to 9 cents per half point.

Thanks Picasso. I thought it was close but I figured it was slightly a loser.

Coacher:

Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna go apply at all of the Mickey D's in the area. I know you love food so I was wondering if you could go on the Subway diet and become the new spokesman for Subway taking the job away from that chump Jared. Subway's profits would rise at least 20% once America saw that first ad with JJ Gold at the helm. The way I figure it, you have a year to drop the weight, and you could be ready to go for next years Superbowl.

Do you like Subway's food Coacher?
