I have recently tried out this book, mostly on the recommendation of people at this forum. It's pretty good. Here's one improvement I would like to see - which I think must be fairly easily do-able. I wouldn't be surprised if it has been mentioned before but here it is:

If I place a bet on-line which is over the max, it would be great if, instead of just getting a message saying I'm over the limit - it gave me the actual max number. What happens is, once I know I'm below the posted limit in the rules, I get into a guessing game. Do I go down in $100 increments? $250? $500?

I could describe the whole long tale of woe that I went through today - twice - but the point is: the system is obviously aware of some number which is the max bet. It would be great if that could be displayed.

(If ABC Islands is listening, that goes for you too.)

Just to add to what groucho is saying, Royal uses the same software as bet365. But with bet365, they have a button on thier tickiet that you can click that says "max bet" So if you wnat to know you are betting the max, you just click that button.

But i think the biggest complaint I hear is that it takes way to long to get a wager confirmation. If its going to take a minute or more to confirm someones wager, why bother imposing limits at all. WHy not let everyone request as much as they want, and if the wagering department doens't want to take that size bet, they can just send a message back letting the cusotmer know how much they will take at that line.

I sent a message to Royal to make sure they are aware of the suggestion..

On the other side, one thing i will say i DO like about their software, is the fact that once you are logged in, you dont have to type your password after every bet...

You can go to wager screen, put in wager, it takes you to confirmation screen, you look at bet, if its rigth, u just click confirm.....you dont have to type your password each time you get there......I DO like that....

Another little point I would add is that, with Royal, you don't even find out about where you stand with respect to the limit until you have actually confirmed. So I don't have the option, once I find out a bet is under the max, of trying to go a little higher. My bet is already in. Sure, I can try placing another bet - but the line might move and blah, blah, blah.

(In this day and age, it seems silly to even be talking about guessing games like this. It's a computer system. It must be able to display a number.)

But, failing that, my feeling is the "Over the limit" error message should be coming up one step earlier - when you are deciding if you want to confirm - not after.

Did that make sense? I dunno.

Groucho and Marc,

We appreciate the input. We are still working on a lot of small convenience items on the site, so it is nice to have players points of view.

Regards,

Richard Jones
