How will you all approach this game if like the side?

If betting the favorite, will you buy the half and lay -6.5?

If betting the dog, will you buy the half and take +7.5?

Or will you just lay the -7 or take the +7 that is given you?

You won't need it...because we're going to win the game outright!

7 just seems way too high for these two teams. WAY TOO HIGH.

I would buy the half for 10c or less either way Fishy. Especially on the Superbowl where the line is about as razor sharp as a line could ever be.

I'm sure I'm wrong, but that is what I would do

It will be fun to see others challenge your reasoning.

I won't bet large, but I think the Patriots roll in this one. They just dismantled two great teams, and they've got two weeks to prepare. Just don't see how this is going to be anything other than a blowout. And I'm finding it hard not to be a Patriots fan after watching them these past 4 years. Classy coach and classy team that does nothing but win and move on to the next challenge. I say blowout. I will buy to -6.5, cause I'm an NFL square, and really don't know what the right answer is!

Just how 'razor sharp' has the SB line really been? The Winner covers at a mind boggling % in the Big Game....

Last year was the exception!

The Patriots who play in the dominant league have already dominated the best offense INDY (on paper) and the team with the best record and defense PITT ...

This game will not be any closer...

NE bettors should be laying 6.5 and Philly bettors getting 7.5. Whatever it takes to get there. Buying on/off is worth the 10 cents if need be. And remember, +7+100 can get you +7.5-110. If the game lands 7 everyone should win....and we should then say a prayer for the bookies.

I think you will be able to find 7.5 or at worst +7 even.

You really think books will go to 7.5?

I doubt we see it, just don't think they want to risk it landing 7.

Rams/titans landing 7 in 2000 is still too fresh in their minds.

Ok let me get this right Journeyman:

Are you saying that 7 is a bad line on this game? What do you think the line should be? 7 was the line last year and it had a damn good shot of landing on it. 7 was the line in 2000 and it did land on it. When the line on any NFL football game is 7 it will land on it about 6% of the time. You must be the sharpest guy around if you think that the Superbowl line is a bad line and is more than 7 points off. You must be betting at least half of your bank roll on such an offline.

Books are smarter than you Journeyman if you think that 7 is a bad line then you are a damn fool

Yeah I've put my foot in my mouth before, but I'm not perfect like you. Just because a line is razor sharp doesn't mean that it's gonna land on that number at a high rate of frequency. If they played this game 1000 times with these same conditons the line would land on 7 around 6% of the time. Phili would win the game about 30% of the time. The points would matter about 20% of the time. It's like that on every NFL game. If Phili were to win the game by 21 points does that mean that the line wasn't sharp? That's what I'm saying you perfect all knowing human being you.

Jman:

So let me get this right, you are saying that the Superbowls in the past had bad lines?

Whatever, you use to rag The Shrink all the time as I recall, now he's all the sudden 'sharp' to you? You should spend more time reading what's really being said and not attacking....too much attacking....always attacking.
