Or atleast not following their opponents player personel...

When asked about the New England corners both Pinkston and Mitchell were in the dark on the Patriots secondary situation...just watch ESPN, :icon_conf

You would think by now these players would be clued in on their Super Bowl opposition, WTF? :icon_conf

Not knowing who they're going to be matched up with?

Not knowing one of the Patriots defensive backs is a wide receiver?

Mitchell also said he had "a little something" for Rodney Harrison. Harrison isn't the guy I'd want to get mad.

this was blown way out of proportion by the liberal media

mitchell didnt know the patriots secondary names but he rattled off their numbers very quickly. since when do you have to know the names? thats news to me. you guys played football right?! did you spend time learning names? god i hope not. shyt who the hell knows the names of the pats secondary?!

and hypocrit sportscenter last week ran a story asking a lot of players if they could name the pats secondary and no one could. it was a skit SC did with kenny maine to be funny on purpose, but now they turn it around on mitchell. what a bunch of jerks ESPN are.

then all he said was "i got a little something" he just said it kind of candidly he didnt say it with anger or anything. what is he supposed to say?! "im looking forward to a nice friendly game of football." ?!

Ok Rob, so lemme ask you, do YOU know the names?

Give me a break, any NFL player who has half a brain would know the names of their opponents in the biggest game of their lives...Rodney Harrison was well aware of Mitchell and even knew he was a #1 pick...

I found it stunning they were not aware NE was using a wide receiver...

So you're saying WE should know this but the NFL players should not?

How can peope watch the NFL and BET on it and not know, that's what I am wondering?

hardly anyone knows the names because of the injurys. SC ran a story on it with kenny maine ;)

but thats guy stuff, thats football thats being a man. he knew those numbers boy and thats doing his job. knowing the names doesnt serve a purpose when he looks at the staffs sheets they are numbers, not names.

True, but no matter how its presented, they came off looking dumb..whether you blame ESPN or the actual players...I saw the deer in headlights look...

Some players and this goes for any sport, have no clue about the sports history, or even the rules of the game they are playing in...I find that unacceptable...

Of course they don't HAVE to know this, but they get what they deserve when they go on camera with a mic in their face and then can't answer common questions...

thats true journey like MLK day last week in NBA knicks player trys to catch and shoot with .1 left, im like are you the only guy in the world who doesnt know you cant catch and shoot with >.3 left never mind knowing the history of what caused that rule change also on MLK day trent tucker with the same two teams.

as far as mitchell goes at least i offered a different prespective on it. i saw it live and dan patrick was really being a prick trying to trap mitchell, it was irratating to watch becuase mitchell is a funny guy and the interview could have been better i guess patrick has a book coming out

Thanks Funk ;).

Don't worry about their names JMan...when the highlights of them getting beat deep are replayed 10,000 times after the Eagles win the Super Bowl we'll remember who they are (or not). :103631605

Journeyman,

This is not being negative but instead of questioning The Eagles recievers, which We know, shouldnt the lack of people who can name the New England corners be an alarm bell to the more shrewder Pro's in this Forum.

Like everything to do with the SB at the moment, people have got the New England blinkers on.

You could be right, Mitchell is a donkey! I mean if Im going to play in the biggest game of my life I think I have watched enough films to know the names of the guys who will cover my ass! I think Pinkston is a bigger donkey!

Just too many dumb stupid athletes in sports today! They are everywhere! STUPID people!

And Sheldon Brown is much much better than Lito Shepherd. Shepherd going to the pro Bowl over Brown is a travesty. Shepherd was beat quite often this year. He gets the INT's as teams throw at him and away from Brown. Also, Freddy Mitchell is not funny, he is an idiot. Trotter and Ike Reese are funny.

They're both deserving of Pro Bowl spots but they weren't going to send our whole secondary so they sent 3 of 4 (Dawkins, Lewis and Sheppard).

Freddie is the People's Champ and wears the belt proudly!

Ike Reese is hilarious...funniest guy on the team. :103631605
