Yes, was living in Jax (ironically) went to the one at New Orleans between the Pats and GB. I had the Pats +14 and watched that overrated piece of **** Bill Parcells lay down in the second half and get a push.

But it was Mardi Gras as well so the trip turned into an extended thing like they sometimes do.

But the hype was mostly all that, just hype. the game itself sucked basically because Parcells was going to the Jets, and he really didn't give a **** about that game. Whats his face ran that kick off back for a TD, and Parcells basically rolled over and played keep away, rather than trying to score.

GB was a very good team that year, but Pats could have covered that game easy.

That was when I really knew that Parcels was an overrated slob who lived off other people's work. Without some other guy building up a team for him, or other guys helping him coach he has shown just how "great" he is.

What has he done in Dallas? What did he do with the Jets after that first year when he took over a decent team? He made the play offs with someone else's guys, and after that he quit on them too because he couldn't get it done.

But I digress. I just hate that guy, and cringe every time someone says he is a great coach.

I remember that game well myself, as i had some squares on the game and had GB -13 1/2..but my square lost AND GB backers pushed because GB's normally good kicker missed a 47 yard FG with about 3 mins to go, should have been a 17 point win, so no NE wasn;t really in a position to "cover easy" in that one..

Brock-

a 47 yard FG is no gimme, indoors or not. But NE had the ball a few times in that second half, and they didn't really even try to do anything on offense.

It is the old addage, that missed FG is only relavant when it comes dow to it. I think NE tried a Fg earleier and missed as well. Why kick a FG when you are down two TDs? Obviously at the time I thought it was an OK decision because I would be covering if he made it, he missed, and of course it bacame the worst decsion ever.

But the game was goofy all the way around, and most people agreed that the 14 was the "best' compromise. Especially the guys that bought down or got the "better" number early.

I have been to three of them. 1. 1971 in Miami between Dallas and Baltimore. I had Baltimore +2.5. Won in OT when Jim O Brien kicked FG. 2. 1976 in Miami when Pitt beat Dallas by 4. I had Pitt -3 3. The 1980 game in Pasadena with LA Rams against Pittsburg. did not bet the game. Funny story. At the Rose Bowl the urinals are ground level. I am wizzing and I notice some urine is splashing on my NEW brown shoes. I look over and here is Weeb Ewbank wizzing all over the place. I said "How about it Weeb, you are wizzing all over my new shoes" He profusely apologized and we both went on our way. That is my story and I am sticking to it. Sadly, I will NOT be going to this one in my hometown of Jax. LT

Yes SB XXI NYG 39 Den 20 I had the Giants -8 1/2 I think so I was happyVery crowded and very cramped especially since the Rose Bowl is all bench seating. Worth the experience to always say you've been to one though.

Won a pair of tickets to the game in Miami a few years back and was much happier getting the $3800 selling price and watching the game on TV rather than going.

I am heading to my third Super Bowl on Thursday. Went to the Pats-Rams in New Orleans, Pats-Panthers last year and hopefully Brady will make it 3 for 3 this year.

I would only go if you team was involved, its quite a spectacle, but I can't imagine really getting into it if the Pats weren't playing.

Also, the host city really makes a big deal, New Orleans was just amazing, perfect city to host an event like this. Houston was no way nears as fun, and so far from what I am hearing from people down there Jacksonville is a lot like Houston.

Still should be a great time, especially if the Pats roll the Eagles.....which I see happening.:toast:

I went to SB 27 Dallas crushed Buffalo in Pasadena. My mother called me crazy for spending $420 for a ticket, imagine that with some of the prices these days. I was almost in awe the whole day, it was my lifelong dream. I didn't even leave my seat the whole 5 hours or so. I still have all the souvenirs they gave including the seat cushion. Also have a tape of the game. It is something you never forget no matter how good the game or your seats are. I have been to many big sporting events, but without a doubt the SB is the one I remember the most.

Buddy you have been around. Are you sure about the 76 pitt dallas? Im thinking 1979.Greatest SB ever played. Iwas at the Ky derby 1978. Saw Affirmed win 6th race. Then went to infield, what a drunk mess that was. Some things you never forget.
