Planning a little trip to Chicago for four nights near the end of February. I have heard it's a great city. Anybody have any suggestions as to what to do or see?

well, you picked kind of a shitty time to go...eliminates the lakefront, navy pier, wrigley field.

are you staying downtown? there are plenty of great restaurants and blues/jazz clubs. there's the art institute, shedd aquarium, planetarium, museum of science and industry.

you can see a bulls game...
what are you interested in?

Yeah I planned on seeing a bulls game. Heck I got them at 75-1 to win the east so might as well support them lol. I like fine dining, would be interested in hitting up a blues club and seeing any unique culture the city might offer.

for italian food, it doesn't get any better than maggianos. if you like steak, the chop house is the place to go.

the house of blues is right downtown and has great music and good food. i used to live in lincoln park, which is north of dowtown (by wrigley field). its a $10 cab ride from downtown. go up there on saturday night and check out kingston mines...a blues bar on halsted & wrightwood.

I will be there, most likely, from Feb 20- 24. Probably staying at the Radisson.

Best steak places...Morton's or Ruth's Chris. For Prim Rib, try Lawry's. For pizza, you just ended up in ZA heaven. Try Pizzaria Due, Geno's East, Lou Malnotti's...

the good food is endless.

I have no idea what they call it there but I accidentally drove thru the part of town I would refer to as LITTLE MEXICO

stay away. it was somewhere around depaul uviversity.

things to do: order a pizza.. youll be friggin amazed. I swear to god their pieces of pizza weigh a pound, ATLEAST. and the sauce is on top...kinda weird.

Chicago has some fine ass women.. I suggest you order one of those too.

Kingston Mines, House of Blues (by Harry Carays), Buddy Guys Legends are great live venues if you are into Blues.

If you like the college scene, the Wrigleyville area has many bars that surround Wrigley Field (Hi-Tops, Cubby Bear, etc). They get alot of DePaul students and suburbanites. Excaliber is the spot downtown.

I don't think it was mentioned, but Gibsons is awesome for steaks.

the downtown club scene is not my specialty but i know it exists. if you are looking for a club with blarring music and people dancing...i can't help you really. if you are looking for a nice bar to tip a few beers, check out hot ladies and meet some cool people, take the cab north to lincoln park. check out:

school yard tavern on southport
kelseys on lincoln avenue
guthries on addison

there are some great improv theatres and comedy clubs in lincoln park as well.

Not really a vacation, rather a little getaway. Got a few days off and it costs next to nothing to get there.

Probably going with a lady friend so I can gotta keep in mind what she would want to do. Will probably end up at a bar/pub most nights but might check out a club at one point. Any restaurants that would impress a lady?
