A fourth member of the Indiana Gaming Commission has resigned, giving Gov. Mitch Daniels the ability to appoint a majority of this board.
Norman L. Melhiser, who was appointed Oct. 12 by then-Gov. Joe Kernan, resigned last week after attending just one meeting during his brief three-month tenure.
Daniels had requested resignations from 17 boards and commissions so he could appoint his own members.
The three other gaming commissioners who already resigned are Maurice Ndukwu, Robert Barlow and Thomas Milcarek.
Under Daniels' direction, the seven-member gaming commission and new executive director Ernest Yelton are reviewing the decision to grant the state's 11th riverboat to Donald Trump's casino company, which has filed for bankruptcy protection.
