I am not including college. Lots of great memorys here. Some of these are now history like the Met in Minn. [They used to have bat days and kids would bang miniture bats against metal floor. I think Fish and I probably were at the same game some time as kids]. Another time, My dad was determined to see opening day when A's were a dynasty and Vida Blue was opening day pitcher. Froze my asss off.
Anyway, My list

I am dating my self on lots of these.

HHH Dome MN...baseball should be outdoors

County Milw...great brats.

Missing...TD Waterhouse...8 years here and havent seen the Majic.

Hockey

Forum. Kings

Lots of misses here.

Tracks.

Del mar...heaven

Santa Anita.

Santa Fe Downs NM

Bossier city LA...Louisiana Downs...Superderby Alysheba

Quad City Downs...Where the true legend of Fish gambling exploits started.

Belmont...Triple crown attempt for Alysheba. (Despite a loss to rival Bet Twice in the Belmont Stakes, Alysheba rebounded to win the Super Derby and finish second to '86 Kentucky Derby winner Ferdinand in the Breeders' Cup Classic that fall.)

Missing lots here...notably upstate NY Saratoga

No way I can remember all of them but I remember the first college football super star I ever saw play live. I was lucky enough as a kid to be friendly with a Boston College allumni he was kind of a Big Brother and made sure kids got to see BC games for years, great guy RIP. anyway he took me as a kid (maybe 12) to see BC play Syracuse at BC (Brookline Mass) Ernie Davis played that day for Syracuse and scored 3 TDs as the Orangeman and their old coach Ben Schwatzwalder crushed the Eagles something like 42 to 14. Davis tragically died of leukemia before he could play in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns who traded for his rights and drafted him #1 the following spring. He was supposed to team up with Jim Brown in a super backfield.

Yeah Rob, I can't remember half the places these days and what they are named. I live 25 minutes from Anahiem (with no traffic) and I still don't know what that place is going to be called.

Joe Robbie was scarey man. WhenI was living in Jax in 96 or 97 we drove down when the Pats came to town. We took a wrong turn coming out, got into that bad section. I pulled my truck right across the 3 lanes and over the median. I didn't even dare to pull in anywhere to turn around. And I am not one that is intimidated by urban blight :), but it was scarey.

Shoe if you are talking about the real Earl Monroe no I don't know him personally of course I have seen him play a few times back when. I can't think of anyone nicknamed earle the pearl either.

Wil, no, I was referring to an old-school seaboard sharpie long based in mecca.

J-man, with Schmidt, Carlton, Rose, Boone, Trillo, Bowa, Maddox, Matthews, McGraw, Ruthven, and Bake McBride's fro in the picture it needs to be larger than life..and may have an young Ryno and Moreland in there?

Luzinski was on the late '70s team that lost three times in the NL Playoffs(mostly to LA), he may have still been on the roster but didn't play much if still with them, and yes Pete Rose was signed as a free agent the year they finally got over the hump..played 1st..loved to spike/dribble the ball on that brutal Vets turf after the 3rd out to close the frame on way to dugout.

You're right J-man, Lonnie Smith was coming on, as Sarge Matthews was part of the '83 team that won game 1, then was run out by Baltimore.

Phils-Stros playoff series in '80 may be the best of all-time?

Poor Astros have lost three 12-round epics, to Phils, Mets, and Cards, really is a shame..as they had teams capable of winning it those years.
