Newport, they obviously taught the how to fix a game class when you were on vacation or something. When you fix a game, you shave points. You don't throw the game result, unless you really are amateur. An 11 point favorite wins by 7 or 8 with funny things happening last 2 minutes, maybe something is going on. An 11 point favorite loses by 8, there ain't anything going on but a team that got beat.
Dartmouth ended the game with a 17-0 run, my friend told me, and he was on Princeton, too...It sucks, but a 17-0 run is a 17-0 run...That's basketball...Nothing fishy about that...Just shows that Princeton was horrible in the final 6 1/2 minutes, not scoring a single point...I think WildBill hit in on the head with his post...
Amazing how people assume that college kids don't know how to log on to the internet and check pointspreads and make wagers. Or that college kids enjoy playing for free while everyone else is making money big time.
At tiny Bandera Downs years ago - Our longshot Play leads into the short stretch and the plug proceeds to shorten stride bigtime. Pin head Jockeys instead of - "this didn't work" and go on, made a traffic jam behind the horse (about six of 'em all right there) and pushed him home the last 150 yards. I was thinking that didn't look good. Damn funny scene though.
