I set this every year. Juice free for our party but fell free to collect your -105 or -110. I set the line and almost everyone plays it. Its fun and gets thing going. I do some research and try to set a solid line.

Warning, people tend to play the under, they can not imagine a song taking this long so you will get under action.

What also will happen is after you give the line a few people will leave the room, go "get a smoke", grab something from the car, go to the bathroom. What they are really doing is singing the anthem in their heads watching a clock. They usually sing it this way in 1 min 20 seconds or so even if they think they are going slowly. so they play the under, but they are not going at a super bowl tempo, the singers do not race through this song.

Anyway here it is, you will find it here only at the Rx.

1 minute 50 seconds (at a new party Id go with 1 minute 44 seconds as you will get flooded with under money)

(the stopwatch starts when the first singer starts a note, not background music. The stopwatch stops with the last singer ends the final note, not music, fireworks, airplanes, etc.). Good Luck guys and gals.

Didn't last year have the singer lip-synching to a recording? If I remember correctly it was something like 2:02 so I'm going with the overoverover.

OH my GOd that was something else. We had to watch on TIVO again and time it a second time or we would have had a riot at our party. the under people thought they won as the song finished, then kicked in again....

They sang the end verse TWICE! unreal, a first in SuperBowl history.

We go from start of sound in a voice to end of sound in a voice.

It was 1 min 53 seconds official. The overs won the unders lost. The under people were dancing as it looked like it was over at 1 min 12 sec a new superbowl record for fastest, they stopped for a time singing but then kicked it in again and sang the end verse a second time for a eye popping 1 min 53 seconds.

Unreal.

2006 National Anthem over/under line....

OK BOYS and GIRLS I know you have been waiting all year for my official line on the 2006 NAtional Anthem over under. Hope you brought this to your Super bowl party last year. WOMEN love this wager and gets them in the spirit! The Over betters won in dramatic fashion last year after the song stopped at about 1 min 14 sec, airplanes went over head and then the group came back to double up on a verse as it went in at 1 min 53 seconds, the year before 2004 was over 2 min 15 seconds! Dont assume this is a short song!

this year the over under line is being set at..........

1 minute 43 seconds...

I have this on TIVO and will rewatch and time to get the official time in case of a razor close finish, like last year. Will post the final time after the game.

good luck.

(in the spirit of this and to use this at your party I urge you to be low juice or juice free. Any sportsbook that adds this must refer to it as the trytrytry over under Super bowl Anthem line. The Rx is the only place I post my line for this an Rx exclusive. I put a lot of time and effort into this line.)

i believe Aretha is singing this - right?

if so - a better prop would be

How much does Aretha Franklin weigh

OVER 450: -300
UNDER 450: +250

gimme OVER here

the reason she doesn't like to fly is because she would have to pay for all 3 seats on the row

the ONLY way she is "riding on the freeway of love" is in an empty 18-wheeler - in the storage container. ain't no cadillac gonna fit her lardo ass inside

Aretha Franklin and Aaron Neville to sing national anthem at Super Bowl

NFL.com wire reports
(Jan. 18, 2006) -- Aretha Franklin will join New Orleans singer Aaron Neville in performing the national anthem at next month's Super Bowl.

The Grammy Award-winning singers will be accompanied by another veteran New Orleans musician, pianist Dr. John.

"The combination of all three should present a very memorable performance," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Detroit Free Press.

Franklin, Neville and a 150-person backing choir will sing to a taped vocal track to be recorded in Detroit several days before the Feb. 5 game at Detroit's Ford Field, the Free Press reported on its website.
