sherman goldsheet.com has NBA scores and pointspread logs from 1993 forward. A number next to V or H indicates overtime periods. Shouldnt take to long to add them up.

since 1989 there have been 229 OT games. 8 of those ended in ties. Since 1989 there have been a total of 3812 games. Edit...3820 (forgot to add the 8 ties)


SO just about 6%.

I made a mistake as it was, not back to 89 only back to 01, couonting this year as well. But still around 6%.


I went back to 1995-96 season and found 681 OT games out of 10944 (including this year/AND those two tonight as well). So that is 6.2%. So overall it is going to be around 6%.

Yes own database, that is how I screwed up. I knew I didn't have nearly enough games for 15 years there:sad3: .
