Do the sportsbooks give comps in a similar way to the type you would get at a BJ table? Or are some comps negotiable?

Thanks.

Fish would be a good one to respond here, he worked the counter for a lot of years in Vegas. Word was you could follow him around and eat, drink and be merry without ever pulling out your wallet. LOL. As far as I know though yes they still comp for certain things like meals and so on but nothing like the casino side. And even this is pure speculation on my part, I never thought to even ask for any comps from the sportsbooks. I'm sure they have them but probably play them pretty close to the chest these days.

we were told after the fact, at the nugget, that if u show your card to the sportsbook teller, or manager, they would rate you on wagers you were making and apply points accordingly to your Nugget card, which we used for free food, rooms, etc.....

I didnt learn that til last day, which could have resulted in alot more points, however we had plenty to eat free every day, all drinks free the whole time, and got cash back upon departure, for our points.....think we got a couple hundred back if i remmeber correctly, and that was just from slots and BJ.....i didnt even really think i played that much there.....We were all in sportsbook most of the time...

Brian Gabrielle, the handicapper at Covers told me the Stations books were giving out $5 in comps for every $1000 you bet, but that was awhile back. I remember Coast books giving about $2 per $1000 connected to the phone bet system they discontinued awhile ago. I think most do give some comps, but only if give them action elsewhere. An exclusively sports (not horses) player might have a tough time getting much, but if you play the pits too you should get something.

Vegas Sports Comps

Some are on a discretionary basis, some use the rating card, some do both.

The IP and Circus both have very good comps. Circus gives $1 per $125 bet, and IP is in that ballpark. Save up to use it in the Circus Circus Steakhouse. Ip has good food like Embers on the 5th floor.

Az Charlies, Palms, Station Bucks are all pretty good.

Park Place and Barbary let the points accumulate but the rate is very slow .2-25%. The value play at Barbary is to wait for a 2x point redemtion day so the buck are worth .4%.

It is a good time to ask for comps, books make 15mm on 90mm handle in Nevada on just the SB.

Hmm.

$5 for every $1000 you wager = 0.5% cash-back. WagerWeb gives 1% weekly.

Good answers.

That's official? If so then they held almost 17% on the game? Obviously that's extremely high, I'm sure even for a SuperBowl it's one of the best yet for the books. Wonder what it would have been had Harrison returned that game ending pick for a TD, LOL. Both the chalk and the total goes over.....

Those figures are right, 17% hold on 90M. A freak score by the Pats at the end would have hurt a lot but not caused a net loss for Vegas books. The game was perfect for the books statewide, dog and under and favorite on ML.

It often really depends on the manager, and their degree of autonomy and/or lack there of, plus the degree of your relationship with them, as some will toe the line for you, while others try to stiff arm.

But as a whole, the days of LeMontrachet have often have now become a trip to LeBuffet.

Customers loved me!

Believed in customer happiness, but had my limits.

Had power of the pen at a couple joints in town and my friends drank and ate very cheaply.

Drink coupons are a given at most joints in town.

Now sqeezing a buffet or two out of them is a completely different story.

Was fortunate when I lived in Vegas in the fact that I practically knew somebody I had worked with in practically every sportsbook in town which made getting comps rather easy.

Miss those days.

Like Fish said most places give out drink tickets. Just make sure to throw the writers a few dollars and they will take care of you. Don't know if you bet the ponies but the comps are more liberal.
