Interesting development with Mourning set to return to the team he helped build, and a last shot at a ring.....

Would be an extra big man for the heat, to help spell Shaq i guess.....

Interesting idea though...

Sure the fans will be glad to see him in miami uniform again

Bucs,

Most fans will be thrilled to see Zo back in a Heat uniform due to his earlier playing days here and his continuous work in the community. However, there are also some fans that thought he sold out when he would not take a minimum contract from the Heat when he decided he wanted to come back and play. If this goes through, it should be interesting to see how it plays out. There is a real logjam now in the power rotation with Shaq, Udonis, Zo, Chrsitian Laettner, Malik Allen, and Michael Doleac. Also, I heard from Heat beat writer Ira Winderman via email and he said that this report is not totally accurate. Although Zo will be bought out by Toronto, there still is a big question mark if Zo will land here. Although Zo's wish would be to come here, Miami is still not 100% sold on the idea. According to Ira, although it might happen, it is still a big "If". It should all play out in the next 24-48 hours.

Wasn't he holding himself together with ducktape right before the trade? I thought he had knee, hip and back issues. Is he healthy?

I have been a Heat fan since there inception and did not not consider not signing for the minimum "selling out"... He has the right to maximize his earnings...But I also remember feeling that NJ was crazy to sign mourning to that contract...everyone obviously knew about his health issues..nj really lucked out getting carter in that deal although time will ultimately tell with 3 future draft picks in toronto's possession

He should retire -- he's just going to embarrass himself.

The Raptors should forget about buying out his contract and just let him sit at home, selfish players that refuse to play for certain teams shouldn't be rewarded with a chance to win an NBA title. Screw him.

No one wants to play in Toronto.

The NBA needs to address this, and not let this fester like MLB did with Montreal/Canada.:digit:

Big difference between the two.

Montreal had no fan base, a terrible stadium and owners that wouldn't spend money.

Raptors are owned by MLSEL and they probably have more money than most other NBA teams and will spend, they have a great arena and a solid fan base. The perception is players don't like Canada, well unless you have been here you would have no idea that Toronto is a great city and about as american as most US cities, just cleaner and friendlier. Is it cold in the winter? Sure but so is New York/New Jersey and Chicago.

One of the good guys

I use to hate Mourning because he use to destroy the knicks, but after all he has gone through you can't help but root for the guy.
