Man do I hate gamblers.

I have 4 people I give my NBA picks to. I've been on fire winning up until Tuesday of this week. One guy who bets big throws me a nickle a week and the other guys are BS players. One guy lost money on Saturday when I went 7-2. Why? Because he took one of my games and parlayed it with the others and of course that game lost. Who told him to do that, I don't know.

Anyway, Tues. I go 3-5. Wed 4-4 and last night 0-2.

The friggen bitching on the phone this morning was unreal.

Do all gamblers expect to win every night???

No, Winning every night, or trying to means chasing. Winning every month ( or most) is more realistic.

There's a lesson in this - don't give your picks to anyone - you'll only get grief.

Firstly you give them your picks which you may have studied hard to come up with. Then because they don't know how to bet, you'll get all the BS about where they can the best odds, when does it start etc and then you have to listen to their BS on their take for the game and when all is done and dusted they'll give you grief if they've lost and no thanks if you've won.

I give my tips out to a couple of long term friends only and still have to endure this BS but seeing as they only bet tiny amounts its not too bad.

The funny think is, it's the small bettors that complain the most. The big bettor knows you can't win all the time.

The one guy i'm going to kill. He keeps missing games. One day he called me and told me he didn't have the number for the book "Will I make it home in time? I'll be home a little after 7." Told him "Sure. There's only one game at 7 which i'm not taking. My games start after that." What does the fat f=ck do?? He comes home and has dinner and then calls for the games at 8:10!!!

Exactly. I made the mistake to turning them on to this BS and now I can't get rid of them. Hopefully I'll go 0-6 tonight and they won't have money to bet anymore. :103631605

Work this out - I'm up about 20% on total stake this season and haven these tips to some friends who are busted - they keep telling me what a terrible season it's been and how unlucky we've been.

I can't find it in myself to rub salt into their wounds by telling them that I'm up $30k since october.

Fat Tony, my older sister told me years ago, "Some people just don't get it, and they never will."

Unfortunately, it seems like we spend 90% of our time dealing with the people who "don't get it." Not just in capping, but in life.

I used to be an academic advisor at a state university. I spent 90% of my time with the students who partied, blew off class, failed tests, and/or were too stupid to be there in the first place. The sad thing was I rarely got to spend time with the good students because they didn't even need me--they were smart enough to read a catalog and a course line schedule and enrolled themselves and succeeded, probably not only in college but in life.

My local bookie tells me his $10-a-game clients ***** the most!
