MANY games end right around the number, and MANY times you win or lose by a hair. So with all of those games, what makes those FEW really "bad beats?" is it the amount you had bet on it? is it that it ended on a special teams play? is it a bad call?

Here's one example of what i consider a bad beat.

Team A -4
Team B +4

Team A takes it's first lead of the whole game with 2 minutes to play. Team B was leading by 5-6 all game long. Team A ends up winning by 5, which also happens to be it's largest lead of the game.

Team A is lucky to even win the game let alone cover.

Earlier today i had a pretty large wager on UND 1st half 74.5 wake/fsu....

The game was sitting on 74 for the last 1:30 and there was a blown dunk in that period as well, somehow it stayed UND til the last possesion when with 1 tic on the clock they called a foul on the perimeter by Wake on 3 pt shot...not saying this was a bad beat at all, but it sure was a adrenalin rush watching it.:finger:

I remember an NCAA 2nd round game about 6-7 years ago involving Stanford. I had Stanford huge. They were covering most of the game. They hit some free throws to ice the game with one second left. Other team inbounds the ball and kid launches about a half-court shot, goes in and team falls under the number.

No such thing. You wager- you get a result. The man pays you or vice-versa. Every side I play is the right side...they just lose 45-46% of the time.

There was a judge who at one time said that he could not define pornography, but he knew it when he saw it. I can't define a bad beat, but I know when Iv'e had one put one me.

I few years ago I needed Kobe to make ONE of THREE free throws at the very end of a Laker game.

He missed all three.

Every game you lose is a bad beat ID.

leading the hockey game (you recall that sport) by 2 goals w/under 30 seconds left AND getting 1/2-puck AND almost +150 and NOT cashing the ticket!

or winning a college NIT game by 20 at half and laying -2 and having that team STILL win the game - but NOT cover!

Drake @ Evansville last week. Large wager, I had the Aces -4. Up 19 with 9 minutes left. Lost outright in OT. That one was pretty horrible.

My bad bets would be when I know of a game I love. Then listen to other peoples advice or posts on forums and change it only to lose. I think picking games SHOULD be 50-50 but theres always an "edge" especially in pro sports.

oregon +7 STANFORD 1998. Jay Maas of the Ducks gets tackled for a safety with 2 seconds left, oregon loses by 8

NEVRENO +12 unlv 2001. Jason Thomas weaves, bobs, jukes his way to a meaningless 11 yd td run with no time left, UNLV wins by 15.

washst +11 OREST 2001. The backup QB for wsu fumbles a snap at his own 40, OSU runs it in for a TD with 12 seconds left, winning by 16.

oak -5 TB 1997. Raiders-Bucs are tied, Raiders threatening inside Buc 5 yrd line with around 30 seconds left. What does Hostetler and dipshit Joe Bugel do? They take a knee twice in a row to settle for a field goal try and Cole Ford shanks it- Bucs win in OT.

lalakers +7 PTL 2002. Kobe fouls Damon Stoudamire with less than a second remaining and LA losing by 6, Stoudamire drains both of them for an 8 pt win

Does anyone have bad WIN stories? I have had bad beats and bad wins, and usually end up laughing hystericaly when either one happens. Ive had at least 2 in NCAA foots when one team blocks an extra point near the end of a game to score 2 points and blow the cover. I also had ucla over usc in that famous OT game about 10 years ago.
