The public has been silent about this mostly because they don't care but I wanted to take a straw vote here in the RX.

Also a second question would you pay less to see replacement players in NHL uniforms? (Yes or No)

Thanks

would love to see european players and minor leaguers playing next year....it would be so funny to see NHLers squawk about scabs when they are over in Europe stealing players' jobs right now.....

Jagr and a bunch of other NHL stars are playing in Siberia and staying at the only 5 star hotel within a thousand miles. He is being paid big money by some Russian oil millionaire.

Am I the only one who is confused by this poll? I mean the thread title seems pretty clear, "Who deserves more blame, NHL owners or players?", but that would only require 2 choices, either owners or players. So why are there 4 choices?

Anyway, my answer would be the players union, because as far as I know, the players were not allowed to vote on whether to accept or reject any of the owners proposals. Does anyone know otherwise?

The Owners are actually saving money by not playing under the old agreement this year. The players need to wise up and realize there isn't enough money in hockey for them to be getting the salaries under their current contracts. The may have proposed a 24% pay cut, but all that is going to do is give those teams willing to dish out cash more room to go out and spend to make up for it. If the owners all agree not to pay players as much, the players will scream "collusion." Hockey needs a salary cap, plain and simple. Until the players figure that out, wave goodbye to hockey.

Unlike a lot of people I read comments from at the forums, I care a lot about this issue.

I blame THE EFFING PLAYERS !!!!!!!!!!!

The other question was, would I pay less to see scabs? Not sure how to answer. I don't pay for games now or in the recent past, and I won't in the future whether it be scabs or regular players. I don't want to watch it; I just want to bet on it.

Am I crazy??? I would give my left nut to be a goalie for the Flyers. There must be a good percentage that would play for the passion.

Maybe I am dead wrong?

Anyway, this is killing the sport. Hopefully they can resolve this before next season.

It has to bre the players - no question.

Why at the 11th hour are they prepared to talk salary cap when they weren't prepared to discuss the numbers earlier. Players greed and lack of understanding of how business works is responsible. From all accounts owners aren't that competent but players have to be realistic - just because they are the product doesn't mean that they must have everything their way unless they want to do the owning and take the responsibilities associated.
