Bucs- Vanessa Marcil and you have seen her on my Avatar for about the last month......

Vanessa
Marcil
as Samantha "Sam" Jane

Starring as the wheeling and dealing Samantha “Sam” Jane on the stylistic, new NBC drama “Las Vegas,” Daytime Emmy Award winner Vanessa Marcil showcases her ability to wine-and-dine the high rollers.

A native of Palm Desert, California, Marcil’s passion for the performing arts began at a very young age leading her to spend her early teen years working in theater. She earned roles in such productions as Neil Simon’s “Fools,” and the classic “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.” Marcil received critical acclaim for her performance in the stage production “Southern Rapture,” starring country singer/actor Dwight Yoakum and Golden Globe winner Sally Kirkland.

Making her television debut on the daytime drama “General Hospital,” Marcil recently won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress and garnered several nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress and Hottest Female Star. After her six-year run on the daytime series, Marcil ventured into primetime television appearing as a series regular on “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Her other television credits include guest-starring roles on “NYPD Blue,” “High Incident” and “Spin City,” as well as starring in the TV movie “To Love, Honor and Deceive.”

Marcil made her feature-film debut in the blockbuster “The Rock,” starring alongside Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery. Her other feature credits include the independent films “The Space Between Us” and “Nice Guys Sleep Alone” with Sean O’Bryan.

Along with her work on screen, Marcil works closely with Sojourn Services for Battered Women and Their Children, as well as with programs assisting those who have been affected by drug and alcohol abuse. She will soon open Patricia House in Los Angeles, which will aid women who can no longer care for their children and is in the process of creating a hotline for these women to have their babies placed in good homes.

Marcil currently resides in Los Angeles. Her birthday is October 15.

Lots of eye candy on that show but boy is it STUPID! Lets see, lets assault a customer with a $10 million line of credit while he is at the table, sneak into a showroom and dress in their costumes. Have your husband chase you across the stage while a show is going. Oh did I mention she supposedly is a key employee in this casino? Dumb, stupid, unbelievably unrealistic. Would be better of just having them do the second coming of Baywatch...

"Vegas" is just painful and mind-numbing, as I watched the very two first episodes of this formulaic cr@p, then could take no more.

It's such a waste of nice eye candy and talent, as it is Dan Tanna-Circa2005-Redux!

That show makes "Tilt" look Golden Globe-esque, and saddens me as a James Caan fan..but yes Ladd still looks great amongst the young lads.

A&E's "Caesars 24/7" is the best hour of LV per week on the tube right now, followed by the latest Poker tourney dujour, and then a fading "CSI" that has become too formulaic, as it moved from earlier aborted sub-storylines of it's regular's personal lives despite recent attempts to keep it fresh by re-addressing them.

I am ready and waiting for that new Gaming Channel..especially it's version of Gameday live from the Sportsbook floor from 10 to 12 EST EVERY SATURDAY & SUNDAY morning with say a local wiseguy thrown in for color..maybe they can also do live feeds from varying offshore outs for action reports leading up to post-time..Wapner or Slim wearing makeup under the bright lights?

Can't wait to see the tizzy that Senator Kyl will get into over this, thus sicking his LV visitor McCain into action?

Sure hope that channel pushes the envelope and succeeds!
