Does anyone know how the revenue for the NCAA Tournament is divided up between the conferences and schools??

Does a conference gain more financially if more of it's teams make it into the Tournament??

I am pretty sure its 50% to the school and 50% to the conference. I also think its on a rolling schedule so the schools may not get the money immediately, not sure.

So then the more schools that get in, the more a conference makes?? Just curious.

Yes - that is one reason you never any at-large mid-major teams.

Interesting. I hadn't watched college hoops that closely before this year.

It seems like every time a team on the bubble needs a big win to increase their chances of making the Tournament, they get an unbelievable amount of help from the referees, especially if they are playing a higher ranked team that has a stronger chance of getting in. This has happened several times in the last week or so.

It doesn't make a huge difference really, divide the amount paid by 10 teams and you see how little it matters. Each team makes some amount of money for each game they win, mostly just to cover expenses. After it is all said and done, the NCAA sends out checks to each conference to divvy up. Teams make more money from having a big run by getting better games the next year and better home attendance if they need it.
