NAME THE ONLY TEAM IN CBB TO WIN BOTH THE NCAA AND NIT TOURNAMENT IN THE SAME YEAR.

Hint- They defeted the same team in both finals.

If UCONN did indeed win both in the same year, I am mistaken then.

This was not the team I was thinking of.

CITY COLLEGE OF NEW YORK

IN 1950 the City College of New York became the only team to win the NCAA Tournament and the NIT in the same year when it defeated Bradley University in both championship games.

They defeated them 69-61 in the NIT and 71-68 in the NCAA

I remember these games....

I had City -8 in both....

First game Bradley runs the "old picket fence" with 6 seconds left guy hits a meaningless 15 footer....

Second game, guy from Bradley hits 10-10 underhand free throws in last 1:30. The MF'er wouldn't miss...WHY WERE THE FOULING!!??

Man, the bad beats....
