Dante,

It is a lot of points, but ODU has responded ferociously after each one of their losses thus far this year...

William & Mary is very close to ODU and they usually play well against them...

There are 330 DIVISION ONE teams.........William and Mary is ranked 299th by the RPI ranking system.

This is one pathetic conference and that is stating it mildly.

The LINE is down to 11 in most spots...

Although ODU has struggled at W & M in years past, I cannot advocate taking W & M against a very good ODU team coming off of a loss...

I wouldn't be shocked to see ODU win by 20...

Therefore, my play is ODU....

Best of Luck,

Shrink, how many games in a row have you picked ODU since you last went against them?

d2bets,

I went against ODU on February 9th at DELAWARE getting 7 1/2 points...

Delaware won by 7...

I like the Tribe here. They are playing much improved as of late and have a solid coach.

If you step back and look at it, W & M was one of the worst teams in the country early in the year, and ODU was one of the best. With all the hype of the Big Blue, the Tribe has quietly improved.

This is a team that took George Mason to OT last week at home. They then routed ruderless JMU to gain some confidence.

In all honesty, if we take off our Shrink-colored glasses, W & M is the play here.

It would not surprise me at all to see "Bill and the *****" win Straight-Up.

Shrink you should know better than most how strong home court is in the CAA. I think laying double digits on the road in this conference is a very dangerous thing for any team (ODU or not).

I didn't really like any of the three in the conference today. I don't want to lay double digits against an improving home dog. I would love to lay the 17 with Wilmington against hapless JMU but Madison has played them very close the last few times head-2-head. I also would've loved to take Hofstra against a poor Delaware team but the very low line and the fact that Hofstra hasn't been very good ATS the last few weeks kept me away from that one.

If you twisted my arm I would've taken Hofstra, W&M and Wilmington today but I just couldn't do it.

Home court isn't exactly a strong suit for W & M. They'll be lucky if they outnumber the ODU supporters to be honest.

Tribe is used to playing in a cavernous arena and familiar baskets though, so it's good for something.

Shrink,
it would NOT shock me for an upset. Remember W & M is playing their best ball right now, and OD arguably their worst. Albeit, the talent disparity is huge, but this is the TRIBE's season and in reality a game that would be hard for Big Blue to get up for.

But as bad as W&M has been this year they are still 6-7 at home. I'm not saying they have a huge advantage at home but considering they are 0-11 on the road home court seems to be the only place W&M even has a chance to be competitive.

ODU loses ONE game ON THE ROAD against a good GEORGE MASON team, after having WON 5 CONSECUTIVE LEAGUE games, including WINS against DREXEL, VCU and UNC WILMINGTON (on the Road), and now suddenly, they are playing their WORST ball of the YEAR?

PUHLEEEZE....

Everyone is entitled to one bad game, so I guess we shall see tonight what ODU is made out of, shall we?

It's a compliment to ODU's season that they've only played one stinker of a game. And that was the last time out against George Mason.

So, yes, that is there worst ball of the year, and that speaks volumes to what a great season they are having.

It was more of a compliment than anything, but you're being such a homer you won't look at ODU objectively anymore.

Find me a stretch of the season where they played worse. You can't, because they've played so good.

The one thing that stands out for me is W&M being 6-3 ATS when the game goes over the number and 2-9 ATS when it goes under. If ODU plays good defense tonight and keeps the tempo down W&M will probably get destroyed. W&M also beat ODU last year at home by 9 points so there should be some Monarch players who remember losing to these guys at this venue a year ago. I don't know that they will be as ready to let off the gas if they are up a good number of points tonight.

W&M has covered the last 4 in this series though. FWIW Hofstra won running away by 18 at Delaware so maybe first impressions are on the ball (in which case I would be on the Tribe). We'll see.

Here is how ODU fared after each of their previous 3 losses:

1-Bounced back and beat VMI by 86-38

2-Bounced back and covered the spread on the Road beating Drexel

3-Bounced back and covered the spread at Home against Drexel...

Combined Margin of Victories was by 63 points in these games...

I actually have a friend of a friend who plays for VMI, but please don't ever use the Keydets basketball team as a means of defending anything!
