this is hard to believe but the san diego padres will be HONORING ken caminiti april 21st! this guy admitted to using steroids and had a coke and alchohol problem and died in a bathroom in new york after going to a friends house to help this friends kid who had his own drug problem but had to do a line 1st. incredible. jose canseco blew this game all to hell and today the padres annouce ken caminiti night in april. what a farce that organization is. and the chargers get a huge F-YOU from me too. after franchise tagging drew brees, nfl comeback player of the year and probowl quarterback, chargers GM aj smith said "drews going into training camp to COMPETE for the starting job with philip rivers". omfg! he needs to get out of here this organization is crapping all over him.he deserves so much better. this city is a joke. i hope MLB fines the padres for blatant stupidity.and anyone who spends a penny on a team that supports substance abuse as the padres clearly do is a mindless moron.~rg

I don't know, Roxy. I mean, the guy had problems and was not perfect. But he seemed to have a good heart and had a message that drugs will ruin your life. He had been a major part of the organization, and is a former league MVP. He's gone, and I don't think the people that loved watching him play have to forget about him to show their support for a clean America. I say honor the man and let him rest in peace.

Ya, I never saw that " had to do a line first" either. He did test positive for cocaine a few days before he died though.

i added the "had to do a line 1st" because its assumed he came out after doing drugs. in the days after his death there was player interviews everyday and a few local radio guys pieced the story together from info they picked up that cammy went to this guys home in NY to help his troubled son. what happened was tragic but this debate isnt about how he died its about the wrong message the padres are sending by honoring him. ive met cammy a few times he was a geniune man with no pretentions about himself and great love for his family. this isnt about cammythe man its about a friday night at the ballpark with thousands of fathers sitting with thier son or daughter as they honor ken caminiti, and that son or daughter askes who was ken caminiti. and dad says he was the nl mvp who was on steroids the year he won it and had drug and other problems and were honoring him tonight because he died from a cocaine overdose. and thats ok cause cammy was a good man otherwise? it says roids are acceptable and drugs too since a famous ex padre did it and got his jersey number retired. wheres the lesson to be learned?

yeah i guess aceduecetrey, but maybe this also says my own morals and values are set at a higher standard than most others. the padres are wrong. thier timing is grossly wrong. and im sure everyone reading this feels as you do and will disagree with me. and thats why drugs and steroid abuse will get a fallen star athlete honored and his number retired everytime. if i could delete this thread i would. im feeling very stupid now.any mod seeing this feel free to kill it.

Roxy- Dont feel stupid. You feel this way and I am sure many do. I just have a different view on it than you do. Right or wrong.

Roxy,

Your point is good, just don't lie about what happened to accentuate your point. This is always a failing agenda.

casinghand i lied about nothing. dude i live in san diego. you think i made all this up? everything i reported here is fact and information that came out in the days after his death from ex team mates who had spoken to cammy 1 week before he died and friends who knew where he was going and why in new york. so casinghand i want YOU to prove that i lied about anything.you cant. but google san diego news reports on cammys death and youll see where i came up with whatever it is you think i lied about. argh...again any mods reading this please kill it. this is enough to turn me to drugs.
