Lots of interest in this game here at the RX considering the many Illini fans on the board, as well as Hawkeye fans.

The Illini opened a -7.5 favorite and now is at -7 at the majority of shops.

Iowa is a mere shadow of itself after losing Pierce(they were only slightly above average with him), as their conference record has fallen to a dismall 4-7 record.

However, Iowa gave the Illini fits in Champaign, losing a heartbreaker in OT a few weeks back.

Guys, this is a revenge game of sorts for the ILLini. Embarrasing performance by them at home last time vs. Iowa. They will be ready for this game. No Pierce. Blowout.

Fish, I dont have exacly what you are looking for. There are few teaser options out there in hoops that are positive expectations, you know that better than anyone on this board. Still many teasers get played and I see this game as a game likely to be about right to the Vegas line.

tease it down to 1 1/2 points, one point wins are rare

Just in case Iowa plays its heart out and loses.

Iowa is a horrible home team covering the number (always have been) so I dont think them covering the number by essestionaly 9 points is possible.

But home dogs this time of year (as discussed) often play well as the other team is not in focus (this is not that huge of a game for Illinois other than against it hated rival from the Deon Thomas era)

I think on power numbers and home court Illinois is -4 1/2 but the new Iowa power number figured totally in games without that player would have it -8.

I just think Vegas has this one pretty close to the likely outcome Ill by 9.

I'm going to tease them to 1 at Mill. 6 pt teasers -120. Piere put in 22 points in 45 minutes their last meeting. He will be missed.

Best way to keep it close with Illinois is to play four corners slowdown. I don't think Iowa is capable of this strategy like a Michigan or Indiana. They will be overwhelmed. Powell and Augustine will be determined to redeem themselves after having a collective awful game last time vs. Iowa. Powell was 10-10 vs. Penn State. Illinois 1st half -3.5 and game -6.5.

The one college powerhouse that has not been taken down by a "live conference home dog" is Illinois. Neither Wisconsin nor Michigan State could take them down. Iowa played the Illini tough earlier but with Pierce. Not sure the Hawkeyes have the weapons to play this team if Illinois comes focused. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Sitting this one out.

The main reason the first game was close was because of Pierce.

I did tease Illinois with Mich St - both -2.

I am concerned about the big guy for Iowa, but other than that, Iowa has ZERO team speed.

I thought this line would be roughly -9. People are trying to be too smart at -6.5. Iowa only came close to Illinois because they literally played their single worst game of the year last time out vs. them. As someone mentioned, this is badically a revenge game now. They will take no pity on Iowa having Pierce out. Don't think they haven't seen the line for this game and feel some disrespect from out.
