Any Vegas guys noticing better lines in Vegas than offshore?

I was checking out Vegas insider and saw some decent differences in lines from casino to casino and from vegas to offshore.

Granted I know getting down more than a nickle on a total at one place could be a project but not bad if you bet in that range.

There are lots of values at the books, but the time/reward equation gets in the way as do the limits. I have met a number of respected players who do it for a living telling me this place or that place cut me to a nickel or a dime. If you play a nickel or less and don't mind the work, shopping Vegas numbers can often yield a good price, but it takes a lot more effort than just checking websites or making a few calls.

I miss betting NASCAR in Vegas.........very slow to move the lines.

Most books are clueless on it in Vegas, or at least they were.

Every now and then I'll walk through 4 or 5 strip properties as part of my work responsibilities. It's not unusual to see 2, 3, or even 4 point differences in totals many days.

Mainly just doing a walk-through to check out the competition and see how business is at competing properties.

I had my mom (of all people) staying in Lake Tahoe last week and I sent her to the sportsbook at Harveys to check futures. I am a big futures bettor and am always looking for good odds.

The odds were 1/2 of what I could get offshore on everyone I checked.

A total ripoff. I guess they want to make their money on the schmucks that come and want to put $10 or $20 on their team no matter how bad the team is.

Am quite surprised how slow they are moving lines, and they are so bloddy scared to get beat. Stupid rules, many have no or limited half betting, no buying pts for parlays, no buying a .5 off 3 or 7 pts for football...etc.... Don't wonder why your losing lots of business to the offshores not too mention no running around. Overall very disapointed in many vegas shops

They don't move the lines much because they don't get hit much by syndicate dollars. Trust me, none of those guys gives a damn if offshores are taking the business away. What is left is quite profitable for them and willing to play into the lesser values they give than offshores. Fact is if you are willing to do the work, you can usually find a better number around town, especially if it is a game that has seen some steam hits. I have seen NBA totals go down 3 points this season on Pinny and WSEX, then walked into a book and seen the total had moved down a half or maybe one point.
