also does it matter if you try it at that same book?..Do they frown on that stuff?

I'd do it if I was planning for the move and overbet the +9.5. Right now I'd keep the bet, maybe it will move more.

this has been discussed before. i dont think the other book would care, they are dropping the line, becuase the want action onthe opposite side.

for the best way to do a middle. i usually put a small lean on the side i favor, then put the remainder on the middle, that is unless you get a HUGE middle opportunity, where the middle edge out weighs the actcual edge you have on the game.

Yes, that is a highly profitable middle. That said, if you bet the +9.5 because you liked it and intended to keep it then you might just want to stay with that side. It should not matter that you bet both sides at the same book. That said, if you can find the best number elsewhere, I think it's preferable.

Dante,

Middling at the big shops isn't a problem. Its the smaller shops who might b itch. This line might go lower yet. Wait for hopefully -6 1/2.

You have the best of the bet in a big rivalry game. Stay put and enjoy the points. If you are going to be a middler then be a middler often.

Some books definitely frown on betting both sides. While it's true, as someone said, that they moved the line to draw action to the other side, an individual taking both sides can contribute to a negative profile and lead to hassles. You're probably okay at a few top books - I guarantee there are a lot of other books that view it in a very negative way - it's up to you where to draw the line. Personally, the only place I wouldn't worry about it is Pinnacle.

I agree with the General. Stay put with the +9.5. Anybody who would middle that with the way the line moved doesnt have the confidence in their handicapping abilities.

I thought about it last night when I had Oklahoma at Pk and then at half time Kansas was -5....down 15....I had a 9 point middle. Almost pulled the trigger...but decided to stay pat. I wish I would've, since Kansas comes back to lose by 8, but was only down 1 at a point in the 2nd half. Thus the middle would've worked out for me. Good Luck Dante on what ever you decide. I took Purdue @ +7.5 for small

Well you could have saved some Dante. I would still give the same advice to you tomorrow though.

If you are a middler then yes, one would jump on that everyday. The point is Dante is not a seasoned middler, nor am I and taking blind shots will do more harm than good for us.
