i dont have a problem with either of them..

the only issue i would take is if rose bet against his team.

because the least he could do, if he was going to do that, is tell me. just out of common courtesy..

Rose. You can't bet on baseball. People have been hopping themselves up forever in baseball. Today's stuff is just better.

It seems like comparing the two offenses is that Rose's wrongdoing is viewed as a felony to McGwire's misdamenor. When in fact, I think McGwire should be persecuted the worse. Records that should not be broken have and will continue to be b/c of roids. What does that say for the honest, hardworking players of yester year like Ruth, Mantle, Mays, Maris etc? Baseball has an integrity issue when it comes to gambling or betting on or against one's team and rightfully so. What about using illegal substances of players to break records? All the while the games attendence and ratings increase. They enjoyed that. MLB should take a stand against the Bonds, Mgwire's, Sosa's and whom ever else is doing this stuff and keep them out of Cooperstown. They compromised the integrity of the game just like Pete did right? Baseball is hypocrtical and won't do a thing to them.

I guess we are finding out now the players were juiced, not the ball.

During superbowl week, Pete Rose was on the Strip selling his autograph for $50 a pop. There is no doubt in my mind that Pete Rose DID bet against his own team for profit. The guy is scum. However his baseball career was legendary, and he belongs in the HOF. McGwire cheated to put up his numbers. That is a whole different story. Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, Giambi, Manny, Arod, Pujols, Thome, Delgado, Pudge, Clemens, Johnson, Beltre, Jaun, Luis, Sheff, Ortiz, and I'm sure many many others are all candidates for the Hall of Shame, becuase instead of hard work, talent, and hustle, they used steroids to put up their numbers. Its sickening.

Wow ID.....first time in a long time i gotta give you props...

thats a good question for discussion..

Like some said, when Pete did it, it was against the rules, what McGuire did wasnt, but i agree, i think what McGuire did was worse, because it effected his numbers, and inheritantly the results of many games...What Rose did didnt...If we did find out for sure that Pete bet AGAINST the Reds, i would probably feel different...otherwise what he did didnt EFFECT the outcome of a game, it was the outcome of the game that EFFECTED him......

Pete really got the shaft. Johnny C even proved it on ESPN. People who are convicted of Man 1 can see less time I believe.

I shook Pete's hand at Caesar's over SB weekend. He was just standing behind watching a $25 blackjack table. He was very casual ...had a ball cap on. I wanted to ask who he liked for the SB, but I didn't.
