My computer is apparently stuck ( not the one I'm using now --- my son's )
I know I'm connected to the internet on it via Yahoo. However, no matter what site I attempt to go to-- it keeps going to http://channels.aimtoday.com/errorpages/404.jsp

I can't seem to go anywhere else but this error page. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks MM :icon_conf

You're in a bind.....

Unless you can get to a site to run a virus scan or download a spyware remover, you're kinda stuck.

Do you have a cd burner on the machine that works?

I presume this has just started so you can do a system restore to some time yesterday.

In Windows XP click on Start then go to Control Panel. Select Perfomance and Maintenance and you will see System Restore at top left. Click System Restore then select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" and follow instructions.

Good luck and let me know if you have another version of Windows.

Go to www.download.com & download spysweeper.

Burn it to a disc & then install & run it on the hijacked machine

That "may" do the trick

If you want, you can also go to www.trend.com & download tsc.zip AND the latest virus pattern file. Save those to cd, then copy them to a folder on the jacked up machine. Extract the zip file & run "TSC".

That should kill any virus that you may have.

Hang on MM....

Go to start\settings\control panel and in there, open Add\Remove programs

Look for "MyWay Speedbar". If you see it, select it, and hit remove. Then reboot.

I think that may actually fix your problem!!

After you do that, then download & run AdAware or Spysweeper (both free) to remove the remaining registry keys (not something you want to do yourself if you don't know what you are doing).
