WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 (Xinhuanet) -- Boston reportedly pulled off a deal with Atlanta just prior to Thursday's trade deadline that sawthe Celtics reacquire guard Antoine Walker.
In exchange, the Hawks will receive disgruntled guard Gary Payton, veteran forward Tom Gugliotta, center Michael Stewart and a first-round draft choice.
The deal is completed and just needs to be approved by the league to become official.
Walker, who is in his ninth NBA season, returns to the team in which he spent the first seven years of his career. While in Boston, Walker played in three All-Star games (1998, 2002, 2003) and averaged 20.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, while leading the club to a pair of playoff appearances.
The 28-year-old Walker was obtained by the Hawks prior to this season in a deal that saw Jason Terry head to Dallas. He is currently averaging 20.4 points and 9.4 rebounds in 53 games this year. Before his short stint in Atlanta, Walker spent the 2003-04 campaign with the Mavericks where he posted 14.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
