get your monies worth in laughs.
At Walmart the other day [sorry rural habitat forces at least some shopping there] I see a discount bin of $0.88 DVD movies. One is called The Basketball Fix starring John Ireland and Marshall Thompson. Judging from the cars I'd guess it's roughly circa 1951. Obviously a quicky Hollywood reaction to the City College point shaving scandal of 1949-50 in NY.
Well this turns out to be almost as bad as Reefer Madness. Terrible acting and just as bad a plot. Marshall Thompson in the role of hoops ace Johnny Long is worse in his attempt to portray a basketball player than Anthony Perkins was portraying a baseball player in Fear Strikes Out.
Really worth the $0.88 in laughs. A must have in your DVD collection.
