no vacancies anywhere

I would like something as close to the center of the strip as possible, and the cheaper the better

does anyone here have any connections?

GOOD LUCK IN THE CENTER OF THE STRIP CHEAP. TRY off the strip, especially as you mentionjed cheap the limits will be very high during march madness at the tables on the strip. last time i went (sept) i rented a car for 36 bucks for 3 days at alamo from their website. I figured trand for 2 to airport would be 12 each way for 2 that 24 so the car was a deal. I GET COMPED A RIO off strip or harrahs and opted for the RIO so the car made sense, went to the dam, downtown, GVR, the palms and hard rock that way.

GL who cares about the room I dont know what the inside of a room in VEGAS LOOKS LIKE.

I called Barbary Coast and was told they were full, because of March Madness. Also, keep in mind, there are several big conventions in town that week, but BB is usually not affected by those. I even spoke with the sportsbook manager and he said there was nothing he could do for me at his property. He said he help me with the Orleans, but we were looking to stay on the strip. Considering my play, the BB Coast always comped me. I stayed last time there and had no problems with them, so I am sure I am still welcomed. He said honestly his hands were tied.

Called Bally's ... spoke with the sportsbook manager there ... and he gave me room rates of $70.00 per night. I couldn't pass it up. Of course, it will more than likely be comped as well, but if not, who cares?

We're going March 16 - March 21 ...

I also use TravelAxe, Sidestep, QIXO, Expedia, TravelNow, Travelocity, Hotels.com, Orbitz, Hotwire, Hotelopia, plus many others, but the prices are still outrageous. Remember, if you use any of the sites, you will NOT be able to get your hotel room comped.

Since when does Bally's comp sports players? The $70 room rate I know is their horseplayer rate for $500 of play / day. I think to get the comp it's $2000 / day. I just haven't heard of Mr. Avello giving much of anything to sports players.

I assure you, I have a room rate of $70.00 per day during my stay. I called Bally's, asked to speak with casino services, and then proceded to ask to be transferred to the sportsbook to speak with the sportsbook manager ... gave him my Bally's card number and he quoted me the rate ...

I normally play anywhere from $500.00 - $2000.00 per play ...

I didn't want to sound like I was doubting you. I was just surprised to hear Bally's change their stance on comping sports players. I take advantage of the racebook rates during March Madness and all of my Vegas trips for that matter. At $70/night it's the absolute best deal in town. So it sounds like there will be at least 3 Rxers at Bally's for the first four days.

How early do you guys come down to grab seats? We normally come down at around 3-4 AM. I'm thinking that ChalkEater might even get those coveted "Reserved" placards from the book, so he might be lucky enough to sleep in the mornings unlike the rest of us.

I have been coming to Las Vegas for March Madness for the last 15 years. I had always been fully comped at the Barbary Coast until Linda Lewis left shortly after her father passed away about 3 years ago. Since Linda left, they don't give comps to hardly anyone except big losers. I will be staying at Imperial Palace and Flamingo but have some good friends who always stay at Bally's for March madness. I will be spending lot's of time there during the games so hope to see some of RX'ers there. How will We know how to recognize you guys ?

My wife works for Circus Circus in Hotel reservations and all of Mandalay Bay Group are pretty well sold out for March madness Thurs thru Sat night. There are big conventions in town to coincide with March madness and also there is a Title fight in town that Sat night. Best bet is off the strip or second tier Casinos like Bourban street across from Ballys. Most of strip Casinos are over $ 250 to $ 350 if you can find a place. I made reservations at Bourban street for Wednesday and Thursday for $ 109 but I will only need the Thursday night as I can't find anyplace to fill in the gap. This is almost always the busiest weekend of the year ! If you need to have a list I can give you a list of decent places that might have rooms.

From the sounds of it so far, it's only going to be RXers at Bally's! We usually sit towards the right side of the room, about 3 or 4 rows from the back. But there's a regular over there that doesn't shower and wears the same clothes every day every year that will be enough for us to choose a new place in the room to sit. Since I play horses, I'd love to convince them to let me sit in the horse section and add the hoops channels to my monitors but they refuse even though I'm a rated horse player. Strange.

I would definitely be willing to pay $70 / night at Bally's or anywhere else for that matter. I play $500 - $3000 a game - unfornately I dont have a players card anywhere. If anyone can help hook me up, shoot me an email.

I wish they would have banned college wagering in Nevada

It would make it easier to get rooms and you could still bet the games offshore.

They wouldn't do anything sight unseen at that time of the year, but call and talk to the manager/supervisor on duty, tell them your play and see what they can do. The worst they can do is say no. It's a free call. Just be sure not to lie since they'll most likely book you at rack and reduce from there. John Avello and his crew are a top notch bunch in my estimation. Good Luck.
