I follow the Tribe, so here is what the local papers are saying: So far, so good. Team is easing him back into a routine and hoping everything will continue to work out fine.
Keep in mind that he is 32 and coming off an injury that kept him out a year...it really would not be a surprise to see him struggle a bit. He will be playing in a decent ballpark in a mediocre division, which is important in this day of unbalanced schedules. He'll be part of a lineup that could approach 900 runs scored...can't easily be pitched around. Those are pluses.
Eric Wedge has tremendous flexibility with his lineup this year. He can be careful with Boone if he wishes and play C. Blake at third without any difficulty.
But also remember that the most homers Boone has ever hit is 26, and he has only hit more than 14 twice (granted, that was in his last two years).
For the Tribe's sake, I hope he has a career year.
