Still calls a great game, he's was on the call back in the late 70's in the NBA...

And of course Brent always let's us know who's favorite by how much:103631605

For my money Brent is the very best play by play NBA/College Hoops guy, and calls a great college football game:suomi: and STILL always reminds us what the

line is...

I like when the game is over from a winner and losers standpoint, but the spread is still uncertain late in the game. He will often say things like this game is not over yet for some people. Or he will say the game within the game. Al Micheals also does this, on Monday night. I wonder how much these anouncers put on these games. Musberger does a good job of not letting you know which side he bet, but I can always tell by the 4th quarter who Al bet on.

Brent has been around for so long now, seems to have alot left, and hasn't lost touch even in this era...

My top alltimers; Brent, Curt Gowdy and Dick Enberg ...

I think Brent called the classic Boston/Phoenix Championship game 3 OT thriller (Garfield Heard game), that's how far back he goes...good to see him so active still...

Brent is a serious "homer' though. He would of blown Jimmy Johnson when he was at Miami. They did a cool spoof of him on SCTV.

Don't forget him hosting the NFL pregame show NFL Today. It is the best pregame show that ever was.

Brent is very good, but I would have to say Ron Franklin is the best in the business. Very enjoyable to listen to.

Yeah the ESPN crew sucks....."Hey look at this right there....BAM" or another classic "Talking to _______ insert name there he told us before the game how pumped up he was for this meeting" Mike Patrick is ok, he is actually decent on B-Ball but the other two.....wow awful

Agree completely, that crew sucks. They give someone head on EVERY play. You would think it was the pro bowl they way they announce. Really gets on my nerves. Patrick much better at hoops but still not good. That hockey duo on espn is incredibly good although I only watch hockey during playoffs for the most part.

I remember watching Musberger as sports anchor on the Channel 2 local news (CBS affiliate) in Chicago back in the 70's. 30 years later and still going strong...

I think Musburger is one of the best big name announcers in the business. He did the "Flutie game" back in '84 and I don't think anybody could have done a better job.

Ron Franklin and Mike Gottfried on ESPN are excellent. There's no better way to spend a Saturday night than with those guys on a big game. I was a little miffed that Adrian Karsten disappeared, but I can look at Erin Andrews all night as well. You'll never catch her walking on the Carrier Dome roof.

I agree Franklin and Gottfried are excellent as well, very versatile....Brent is a HALL OF FAMER...He may be the most natural play by play guy ever, that's what i like about Brent, its as if he's sitting in his living room, the words just come out effortlessly...

H:suomi: e never mentions Jimmy The Greek though, unlike Al Michaels who will still mention Howard Cosell....It would be nice to hear Brent tell an old Jimmy The Greek story occasionally...

Gotta love chilly november Big 10 football with Brent doing the play by play. Nothing spectacular, just gets it done.
