SPORTSBOOKS- and BOOKIES- HOW MANY OF YOU CHANGE LINES ACCORIDNG TO A PLAYER??

I have Heard it is a Practice at Some Books,,, is this True? DO BOOKIES and SPORTSBOOKS SKEW a LINE according to the SHARPS at their BOOK??

I think most would agree Pinnacle is set up on a tight QUICK adjusting VIG,

Even if you dont Name the BOOK, I am just Curious as to what % this happens in the Industry, If Ever,,

bodog is notorious for it as many will complain...i see NO problem with it...they're are it eh business to win, not lose! Also, you ALWAYS have the choice to bet the OTHER side......

Sherman,,, I TOTALLY know Bodog deals sep. Lines,,, thats common knowlede to all here,,, but you know from your friends that they will Skew a LINE according to a Specific account at their book???

The Book Knows that SHRMAN Has 100 Dimes in and out of his account,,, he has taken them for a Few Hund Dimes,,,, when he makes a Bet on a Game for 10 Dimes do they HOLD THE LINE THEIR JUST BECAUSE of HIS ACTION,,,,,(NOT do they DEAL him a DIF line) so OTHER PLAYERS may BET INTO THAT GAME THINKING its a SOFT LINE,,,

is that better?

Books that deal w/ tout services always adjust the lines after they get a read on what the service is giving out.

I think books are more likely to move on large action (which does tend to come from sharps).

When a book has a relationship with a tout service, the service has a number that it gives all of their clients to call into the book to set up the account. Then they are in a "group" with all of that services clients. Then it only takes one client calling in getting the "right" line and then that book knows which side all of the clients will be on. This of course only works with services that do not side.

I have been around a lot of high limit books and the only thing I have seen commonly done is separating the very small square players from the higher players square or otherwise by their profile. The smaller players or what a book might call "the small group" just coycats the big or highplayer group's numbers when it comes to moves. The small group may start with the favorites a half or even a full point higher but no one player in that profile group can singlehandedly move the line on any particualr game. The high profile group however is natrually where the action is and certain players can move a number with a single bet, others are just squares who happend to be betting high and their bets when they add up enough may move a number. Quite natrually if you are gettng action from the very sharpest betttors of course most conventional bookmakers are going to move their line towards the sharp players side.

Times have changed new models have evolved to handle high limit but square players, and the even more difficult to handle very sharp high limit players. Pinnacle is an example, I can not remember a book in the 90's that used vig to mainipulate action like they do these days.

Can a linesman hear from a clerk I got BB looking for game 298 what do you want to read him - sure they can and do.

the majority of books that do this are credit shops that deal with syndicate type action....not post-up shops

tout services plays do not concern books...touts plays are not originator type plays....which means the majority of action comes at numbers well past any value...

buckeye, bluegrass, delmar, cascade are among books that will deal lines based on select action.....

DPO- I was talking about dealing different lines, not adjusting. The players under the touts umbrella would recieve one line and the other players would recieve the "fair" line. When you have a shop that deals heavily with touts, there is no way for them to balance of the touts action and they will always be heavy on the sides that the touts are giving out. The book has no risk doing this because they know that the player is only going to bet the way the tout tells him. Of course once the tout has burned the client out and the book catches on, then they will recieve the "fair" line.
