Anyone know what recourse you have if w2 or 1099 isn't sent by the deadline?

On page 7 of the 2004 IRS 1040 book it states:

Your employer is required to provide or send Form W-2 to you no later than January 31, 2005. If you do not receive it by early February, use TeleTax topic 154 (see page 8) to find out what to do. Even if you do not get a Form W-2, you must still report your earnings on line 7.

Page 8 gives this number 800-829-4477 you want topic 154 which deals with lost W-2s and 1099s when not received.

Has the IRS stopped mailing out all Tax forms? Several years ago, I had J-Hewitt do mine and have never received one since.

I see people in the library trying to sort through forms, so I guess they didn't get any either.

Just do your taxes

Online for the last 4 years I have done it cost like $30 at most places to efile and I use H&R and they ask you all the question and you give them the answers very easy. I do other peoples returns and it Takes about 1 hour at the most to do a 1040 with C and other stuff. Even ask you stuff you may miss on your own. Plus you don't have to look all over for those damn forms you cant find but one day a year at the post office they put them out and then they are gone.
