Isn't it ironic?

Maybe the NCAA dosn't want to admit it, but Western Union sure as hell knows where to advertise:103631605

They love to spread out the scores as much as possible....CNN use to be the worst by far but back in the day they were the only source...it would take forever on saturdays, then it would go to commercial!

How about when they would come on (because of a glitch) with the same exact scores they showed a half hour before. That was frustrating as all get out.

I remember back in 1995 when i first started, calling some score phone, a 900 number of all things, for "live" updates on an Indians game...

then i found my handy ATS sportspager, had that till 2002, now nothing is better, if i am not near the computer, than my Sprint PCS phone...

What the hell did people do before cable TV or really the internet to keep up top date with scores?? Have a ticker wire like the stock market or something?

Nich Charles was the main host, him and Fred Hickman...Nick Charles started in Baltimore, also was big in boxing....I don't think Nick did the headline news updates...

Jerome Jowinovitz (something like that) isnt that the other guy lol...he was quite unique as well...It just popped in my head, I believe he was the other guy who the regular...

Van Earl has a morning radio show on Fox Sports. It's amazing how you recognize the voice. Our last son is named Van and I joke that it was Van Earl that I named him after.

Jerome Jerenivich....classic.

And so it goes......

cnn back in the day, I'm talk at least around 1985, would do their scores at 19 and 49 past the hr. so obscure. and most of their programming would start at 5 mins past the hr.

I also remember cnn's sunday nfl show hosted by Terry Chick. He would have Jimmy Vaccaro on from the Mirage give out picks vs the spread.

They used to have Danny Sheridan on, that guy parlayed a lousy sports service into a gig giving the lines. Imagine if Mike Warren lied and had one big season, we could have the USA Today line courtesy of Mike Warren. That would be funny...
