Just wondering about racism?

I was watching Entertainment Tonight last night and they had an interview with Missy Elliot. They axed her which actor she was rooting for to win the Academy Award last week. Of course she replied with the, "Of course I was rooting for my boy Jamie Foxx." Later in the day there was Oprah with a rerun of her show. She had on Chris Rock and Jamie Foxx. (Sense a pattern here?) She said how proud she was of "her boys" and how well they did at the Oscars.

I could name thousands of other incidents where Black people only seem to root for people of their own color. Is it right? Remember when Jamie Foxx accepted his Award for Best Actor. He only "SAW" Oprah and Halle in the audience and wanted to get wit dem later. Funny how he seemed to miss the other whites in the audience who are just as influential in Hollywood.

I was just wondering how it would go over if they had all the white actors/actresses GO ON RECORD like all the blacks do on a daily basis and profess their bias towards caucasian actors.

I see a double standard that has been and will be around for years and years.

This also applies in the world of sports when the brothers seem to only hang with their "boys."

Am I wrong here?

I think calling this racism is a bit over the top. It used to be called, and maybe still is, black pride.

Frankly I see this the same as an Englishman routing for Manchester City when they play Juventas or the Japanese routing for Seattle since Ichiro plays there.

As long as it's non-confrontational and doesn't lead to violence I don't see a problem. To comment upon it seems to betray a sense of insecurity.

No, you are not wrong IMO. White (non-Jewish) males have been heavily discriminated against in Hollywood for the last 30 years or so. We're supposed to be strong enough to weather it, though, and if we notice it and/or speak up about it we're being anti-semitic and racist ourselves. You see, we have to consider them equals, yet they can consider themselves special. It's kind of like Pirelli PZERO Asymmetrico high-performance tires:

There's beauty in asymmetry you see ;)
