65 people, all in for $10. Winner gets $650. Random draw for a team. I would be willing to monitor.

Obviously, I would not enter to keep it legit.

Takers?

It's not feasible. Plenty of book sponsored ones like Royal's with added cash. 65 spots hard to fill, when we couldn't fill a FREE 100 square contest for SB.

That's fine if it doesn't work, so be it. I just threw it out there thought it would be fun.

I would have held the funds, and dispersed them via Neteller. Being a well-known member and semi-public figure, thought that would have been good. Not like I'm going to run off with it.

Anyway, best of luck to those in your wagers.

Green Dober... how can I drop you a line, have someone staying at your Casino soon and have a couple of questions I'd like to ask you.

Green Dobie: I'm not trying to jinx your effort, just don't see it flying !

I'll participate for $10, if no fees to send it ( not sure about that). Do you have that angle covered ? It seems there may be fees that aren't anticipated. I'd like to see a book take this idea over !

Best Luck,

Doug

Doug J,
just a thougt , not trying to be greedy.
Thought it would be a fun thing.
See the problems with it, but threw it out there anyways.

Huh?

Greedy ? Who said you were greedy ? I'm offering an opinion on possible barriers to your idea. I'll support the concept, I'm giving my ideas to help you achieve it. I see problems though, biggest one is comparing it to SB square contest.

I read you wouldn't even be in it ! My problem with your idea is the fees associated with the $10 transfers.

Is NT a co-sponsor ? I'm not busting your chops, just asking how you propose to make this work.

What would be fun is if we used a site like Tourney Time or something like that, so everyone could put in picks without cluttering up this site and then have it professionally graded. They charge about $50 to allow hundreds of entries, we used them for our office NFL pool. Just do it for bragging rights or maybe a sponsor or two could chip in to cover the small cost and give out a prize.

WB: How are the monies transfered ? You still have 65 guys sending $10 each, unless your post addresses that issue, and I miss the technique !

I missed the bragging rights bit ! Let Buc's work up another deal !

I am sure a sponsor could spare $30, the fee I just saw on the site. That is the total cost of a pool, not a per person cost. Our office pool was $15 for about 45 people which we just took out of the pot. It would be messy to try to do it on here, but I suppose Jack of Hearts probably could do it.

Forget the whole $10 idea, I agree it is too much hassle. It was nice that GD came up with the idea, but it is hard to deal with such small amounts. Not to mention I am not a fan of doing anything random. Drawing a team out of a hat feels like playing the lottery. Better to do something that has at least a notion of skill to it, especially in this crowd. I don't think any of us are coming up short in terms of finding action.

i was in the fairest ncaa pool i've ever been in last year .

everybody is blind drawn a team.

lets say you get a 16 seed and think youre screwed. you were not. because it was a pointspread pool.

if your 16 seed covered the spread against the 1 , you now own the 1 seed. if they didnt cover you were out and the guy holding the 1 seed kept them.

was a great pool.. i had okla st. they won but didnt cover against st. joes in the final 4 game. wasnt happy about that.

i think a modification was in order . when its down to the final 4 , its straight up. no spread..
