Georgia Tech the #5 seed goes against #4 Virginia Tech Friday afternoon in Washington D. C. Both teams were 8-8 in the ACC but the Hokies won the only meeting between the two in Atlanta, giving them the higher seed.

The Ramblin Wreck are playing for an NCAA Tornament berth, plain and simple. Coach Paul Hewitt says in one breath that eight wins should do it. In the next he talks about the importance of winning one more. Ga Tech hasn't won consecutive games since January; now is the time.

The line as of now is Ga Tech -8. :icon_conf

The Georgia BullDogs, the #6 seed from the SEC East will face off against Mississippi State the #3 seed from the SEC West in Atlanta on Thursday. Georgia Coach Dennis Felton has made his team into one that opponents dread playing. Because of its slow-down offense and contest-every-pass defense, only Mississippi State and Tennessee have reached 70 points vs. Georgia in the last month.

In their only meeting this season, Mississippi St. easily won 76-62 in Athens, Georgia. Georgia is an unimpressive 8-19 overall and 2-14 in ACC play while holding down the cellar in the SEC West. Mississippi St. is 21-9 overall and 9-7 and in the middle of the SEC West pack at #3.

Even though Georgia is playing in their on back yard they are a 13.5 dog as of now. Tip off is scheduled for Thursday at 3:15 PM.
