I see many respected Handicappers on this thread give out picks with teams that have horrible records. I understand that the favorite doesn't always win and certainly doesn't always cover. I love betting underdogs.

However, I don't like betting on bad teams. What is a bad team? A team that is under .500? Maybe not.

A team under .450? Maybe.

A team under .400? Yes.

I played Richmond today vs. R.I. because R.I. has a horrible record. Richmond won and even covered.

Tonite I am playing Notre Dame against a Rutgers team that is 9-18.

Of course this is not the only criteria that I use.

Rutgers played Notre Dame pretty tought last week and has hung in many games, usually losing by 5 or less...They've (Rut) got some good shooters but lose late because they're young, meanwhile Notre Dame has been horrible down the stretch again this year.

I love betting terrible teams and UNDERDOGS.

Had EVERY dog in the NCAA this past weekend and made out like a bandit.

If you put as much effort as just looking at the record and the lines you should just pick the teams that look really good and play the other side. Always fade yourself... i know its hard but unless you do your homework you will be a at 40% plays the plays you like and 60% fading.

Hold on a minute. My post didn't come out the way I wanted it. My point is that I don't like betting on teams with horrible records. End of story. I don't make my picks because one team has a better record than the other.

Looks the Irish are struggling again, this will finish their season if they don't get it going....I like this young Rutgers team, they have some great shooters

A ND loss could only aid NORTHERN IOWA and IOWA.......:)

Don't think either will make it, Fish. Iowa needs to somehow make the Big 10 finals at least. The Indy/Minny is going to be the 4th Big 10 team and it will take a lot for the B10 to get 5.

Reputation. Plus, sometimes he is effective. He has skills. Just too inconsistent.

If IOWA wins 2 games, they should be in.........which includes a win over MSU.
