I think some of these stats pretty well dispel the notion that they eased to a 29-1 record....
Handed WAKE FOREST (#3) their ONLY non-road loss (neutral) of the season AND their LARGEST loss of the season (by 18)
Handed GONZAGA (#11) their ONLY non-road loss (neutral) of the season AND their LARGEST loss of the season (by 17)
Handed CINCINNATI (#21) their largest loss of the season ( by 22) on a neutral court, holding them to their lowest scoring output of the season by 16 points(45 points)
Handed ARKANSAS their largest home loss of the season (by 12)
Handed OHIO STATE their largest loss the season (by 19 at home)
Handed MICHIGAN STATE (#13) their ONLY home loss and tied for LARGEST loss of the season (by 13)
Handed WISCONSIN (#23) their ONLY home loss of the season, snapping the longest home win streak in CBB at 38 games, and doing it by DD.
And these are basically the best teams that Illinois played this year...vurtually all of the them resulted in the opponent's worst loss of the season.
Not to mention 25 out of 29 wins coming by DD.
I'll bump this thread on APRIL 4. arty:
