Filing out: New Mexico.

Note: The Blazers picked up a vital win against DePaul, dragging the Blue Demons back down to the bubble. The resumes of the two C-USA foes are very similar, and both look better than the Lobos' at this point. As the field comes into view, it's apparent that fewer and fewer bids are actually there to be had. But hey, should be a pretty decent NIT.

This guy must be high, Nor. Iowa is not getting in ahead of New Mex.. New mex has won 7 games in a row, beat Utah and is something like 19-3 with Granger in. Nor Iowa has one win against a top 25 team So ill. went like 7-3 over the last 10. No way they take them over New mex.

Plus doesn't No. Iowa have like 11 losses? A midmajor with doublediget loses making the dance on an atlarge?

NORTHERN IOWA does have an impressive 36th RPI rating...........and that may go a long way in helping them get in.

FIsh, I think they may get in but not over New Mex, maybe over Depaul or UAB. In the past the ncaa has given hot teams bids, not a whole lot of teams have won 7 in a row right now.

Yes, their loss to SWMS in the MVC tourney is a BAD loss for them to overcome.

I really hope New Mexico wins the MWC tourney because I am afraid they'll get shafted in favor of a Big 10 or ACC team if they need an at-large berth to get in.

All this talk of Iowa, Indiana and Minnesota getting in is utterly ridiculous. One of those three deserves to get in. Iowa shouldn't even be considered because without Pierce they are nothing. Indiana has 12 losses going into today. Yes, that's 12 losses. They are three games above .500. So they lost some games on last second shots. Well, that's basketball. It's like saying Georgetown deserves to get in along with ND, West Virginia and five other teams from the Big East. No, the Big East should get six teams, including WV. ND and Georgetown are NIT bound.

I am really afraid so many deserving teams are going to be left out this year because of the big conference bias (which happens every year.)

No way N. Iowa gets in. If they beat SMS in the conference tourney and SIU won the tourney, they were in. Now....not a chance. Their RPI is O.K. because of a tough non conference, but they didn't beat anybody and have some ugly losses. And as underdog said...too many losses.

N. Iowa deserves to get in over any of the three Big 10 teams mentioned. I think their problem is they finished behind Wichita St. in the regular season, and it would be tough for the committee to justify taking them and not the Shockers. So the committee will glady give that bid to the ACC or Big 10.

Very simple as far as I am concerned about Iowa.

If they defeat MSU tonight, allow them in.

If not, send them packing.

N. Iowa beat Iowa St., took Cincy to OT and almost won at Iowa, who had Pierce at that time. This is all early in the season. They also beat W. Michigan in the Bracket Buster. I am not saying the deserve to be in, but not a bad non-conference resume compared to others.

Is it between Iowa and INDiana for the last spot out of the big ten...or might they get only 4 in?

Fish, what do you think about Indiana?

Much like Iowa, they must win today to be deserving of a spot.

Big 10

Consensus seems to be that Indiana is getting in if they win today. Minnesota seems to be in. I think Fish is right, if Iowa beats MSU today, they'll probably be in too.

I just find it hard to justify this conference getting 5 or 6 teams in when Ohio St. isn't eligible. If OSU was eligible, would they get 6 or 7? I feel like all of the analysis talk on ESPN is geared to helping the Big 10 get another team in because OSU can't go.

I'd rather see New Mexico or Northern Iowa or St. Mary's or a whole host of non-big conference programs get a chance to go.

Apollo---It's a 5 team max conference this year even if Ohio St. was elgible. I'm guessing whoever performs better in the conference tourney gets in between IOWA and IND. It would be tough to decide between those two but I would pick INDiana cause of the better conference record. If Ohio ST. were elgible, neither would get in.
