Is it a big deal for the city or just another event?

Where do the drivers like to hang out?

I am so boring that I turned down a free pass to the race and a luxury box this Sunday.

It's a very big deal here ... The casino's are loaded with trailor trash, cheapskate rednecks.

The NFI crowd was much more generous and polite.

Correction,
Paper say 160,000 expected. I was walking around yesterday evening and it was really wild everywhere. I'm not sure I have ever seen such a crowd in town. I think I even noticed a sober person but maybe I was fooled !

Hotel room rates go through the roof this week. Places like Aladdin and NYNY start charging rates like $399 for lowest level rooms. Every casino gets their dealers and staff into NASCAR stuff. And the mother of all traffic jams develops on the way out to the race and back home as those 160k people head out to a relatively remote part of the valley. They say it is a lot better now, but one year it took some cars 5 hours to get out of the parking lot.
