Is buying half points in hoops and football worth it?

I know everyone doesn't like to lose by half a point. I buy half points only to bring a line to what I feel are key numbers (1-10) in college hoops and (2-6, excluding 4) in the NBA. I am debating this is even worth it. I am keeping a running tally of how much it saves or loses me over time.

I do the same for football.

not recommended in either and only if you know what you're "doing"....

I see alot more value in it in football than I do in basketball though....

For certain numbers yes, but not for that big of a spread (1-10 in hoops). I rarely but a half-point in hoops but occasionally will on or off 7.

During the year unless off 7 or 3 in FB..I dont see the advantage..the xtra .10 cents over the long haul will shorten the margins..

I do see an advantage in HOOPS...this time of the year..Buy to the solid ## for the push..The oddsmakers are so good this time of year that games do land..And when they land they are under the microscope so its NICE to say I won or pushed a highly visible game..

Totals I would stay away from if you are buying..The value isnt there..

I have been around forums long enough to know not to get involved in a debate about buying half points. If anyone gives a flying fig newton, I would sum up my position thusly: the books sell them for a little more than they're worth - like anyone selling anything in any business. They do it for profit.

I'm more interested in the peteep avatar question. I'm guessing Prozac.
