instead of 64. i dont get the 1 play in game for a 16th seed. keep it at 64........that being said, been some great games this week and the committee has a hell of a tough job today. despite the overall perception the nit is not that bad.

It changed a couple of years back when the Mountain West became a conference. This added an additional automatic qualifier and they didn't want to lower the # of at large teams.

I know the VAST MAJORITY of sports fans love the Big Dance.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoy it, but I find it HIGHLY OVERRATED AND AM NOT A FAN OF THE CONCEPT...........from how the teams are selected, to the general format of the entire tournament.

I agree that 65 is silly. How much $ is generated by Oaland vs. Del St tilt? On another topic , imagine if this were Dec. and we were awaiting the "Great 8" NCAA Football Selection Show! We here on the Gaza strip respect the $, why don't the NCAA nit-wits?

I see this 65 as a Prelude to having 68 invites, and we're going to have Four Play-In Games on a Tuesday (an opposite Final Four) and get to 64 on a Thursday, just the way it'll always be...

The NCAA has some real nit-wits in high places.

If you dont believe me, visit the headquarters in KC someday.

Hey Fish,

The NCAA headquarters is now located in Indy but if you meant the former NCAA building in KC. Whatta waste of money spent by NCAA and are they are a legal business entity. Think not and it's a frickin' monopoly.

I agree with that thought, i have often thought that soon enough they might even take the 12 weakest conferences such as america east, sunbelt, meac, southern atlantic, ones like that, and they have to play another game and the 6 winners get to the dance, and that opens up 6 more bubble spots for teams like Indiana, Notre Dame, Maryland, Iowa State, and New Mexico, teams that might actually have a shot to win a game or 2 in the dance...

they should go to 68 teams and then have a nationaly televised show for the 4 write ins, they may be voted in by fans. this increases viewership no matter what, becuase ppl have a tendancy to root for the clubs they lost to. plus think of that 900 money

kind of like american idol, but on an all for nothing one night show

I met Bill Saum the anti-gambling dude of the NCAA once. Funny stuff having a conversation with him as he was telling me how evil gambling on college sports is. I also agree with your thoughts about the process itself. It is very subjective, but still better than football because at least there is a tourney.

As for 65 teams, the NCAA has to protect those at-large bids for the ACC, Big East, SEC, Big 10, etc. at all costs. It's a shame. I may be in the minority, but I like the smaller conferences getting a chance to play their way in, even if they get bounced in the first round.

For a new poster, u sure seem to be jumping right in, with the "cynical" posts...

Please do not attack other posters, or post derogatory about them....if you would like to comment on the threads, great, but attack the post, not the poster.....

What are you talking about Fish? The dance is setup perfectly (except for the nimrod selection committee). It is the greatest show in sports. And I don't think the kids that play in them would change a thing either. From conference tourneys to the championship game it is the best time of year. Everybody loves it except for you, scrooge.

What a joke this is.

If I don't agree with a poster get removed?

NO, its when u call other posters STUPID, and refer to them as "nitwit" by saying "you are the one in the know"....

If you dont agree with a post, argue your point by all means, but don't take shots at the poster....

Thats the point...

Seems odd that you would already have taken 2 shots at the same poster in 2 different threads on your first day....

that is all....

The way your post read you made it seems as if you were saying "he should know" when he said the committee people were nitwits...

If i misread it, then my mistake.....However after your other post telling him he was stupid, for making a post, it appearred to be a pattern...

If you would like to ask your question again, feel free.....
