The Huskies will go as far as the refs let them. The Pac 10 refs have been killing us in road games, with some ridiculously called games. I have a feeling other league refs will let the kids play a little. The game at Mac Court where the teams combined for 96 free throws, called by a couple of the most experienced refs in the conference no less, was a joke. The Arizona loss where the Cats got 40 free throws and made 38 was horrendous. Stanford getting over 40 free throws a week ago in Palo Alto made a huge difference as well. Our defense is aggressive, but the Pac 10 seemed to put out a dictate to call anything that was close to contact, especially in our road games. When the refs call the game like that, it throws our team completely off, both in pace and style.
People don't think we can stop the inside game, but provided the refs don't give Jensen and Rollins quick foul trouble we can contain opponents inside. How many fouls the tourney refs call could be the difference between heading to St. Louis or ending the season on a dissapointing note.
