I like the idea, it would eliminate most conferences right off the top though...similar to baseball, but this will NEVER happen..

College football has a better chance of crowning a champ on the field then this ever getting on the drawing board.

Still have to remember that kids miss class for these tourneys and most need all the classes they can get.

Very interesting idea though I think it would take away from the specialness of the 1 and done with makes this time of year so special.

Why not have the first two rounds be single elimination, and then move to a best of 3 series?

I still like the single elimination format, but Fish's idea could work.

why not get rid of the conference tourneys, add 2 or 3 games to the ncaa's
and let every div.1 team into the dance

Guys, isn't the system perfect as is? I mean, that's what makes March Madness great! The best teams don't always win, and the pressure of the tourney is what makes it what it is. I love it just the way it is, including the CBS song at the start of the broadcasts, up to the One Shining Moment video when the champion is crowned.

Nice idea but with double elimination the allure of March Madness would be lost for the casual fan. The cream would rise to the top and the smaller lower ranked schools would really not have a chance.

I would actually reduce the number of automatic bids. There are some teams who should not be in the tourney.

Double elimination. No way. It would take too long. Basketball is boring enough. The last 10 minutes is all that matters. Get basketball over with so we can get baseball started and over with so we can get the real men's sport going again.

no they should expand the field to 128 teams and start the game with a "scrum for the ball" to see who gets possesion like in the XFL

remember when a guy got a carrer ending torn ACL in one of those scrums?!

one of my favorite posts of all time "he hate me now called he fvcked me after fumbling twice in the 4th qtr and costing me $2000"
