Does anyone know how most half-time #'s are originated? Is there a basic formula for teams down/up at the half vs. their original line that they tweak a little? Do they have cappers/consultants watching all these games or do they just quickly pour over some halftime stats? Just seems like a lot of work to generate the half-time line on most the games on the board during a given day.

The HALFTIME lines are a direct result of what the FULL GAME SPREAD was more than anything else.

Very easy, with experience, to make a relatively good halftime number.

Many shops provide different numbers based on their action they received for the full game, as they try and even their action on a potential loss, or hedge a potential big win.........something as a bookmaker that I do not agree with for the most part.

I find there can be great value at the half especially in the Nba. Overs when the pace is below the whole game number and favorites at cheaper lines. Also in the occasional blowout the dog is often a good value. Any Nba team down 20 or more at the half is a good bet.

The 2nd Half line is completely different from the original line some use the original line for a guide line. but say for example the Spurs were 8pt favorite over Sacramento, and the book was loaded on the Spurs -8. the Half time score is Sacramento leading 50-42. if the world puts up the Spurs 6.5 for the 2nd half. using 7 isnt a good idea, when you have that much the best of it, why should you try to give money away. I know alot of 2nd half oddsmakers if anything they would use 6-15.

It has never happened, show me one book and I'll pay you $5000.:dancefool

You are telling me is the Spurs are down by 8 at the half and everybody pus up 6.5 for the 2nd half, you are telling me noway no one will put up 6-15. evidently you dont bet 2nd halfs. you also will see people use 2 on a 2nd half and you will see someone use 1.5 -115. everyday I see that.

My bad, I thought Sac was the favorite at -8 and leading 50-42.

If the spurs are the fav in this scenarios and are down 8, you would see spurs -6.5 or -7 as the 2nd half.:smoker2:

Olympic almost always puts up the first HT number and it is almost always painfully obvious when they put up a line that is going to move. I would really like to know if they do this on purpose for whatever reason or if they really need to buy a clue or two. No offense to Olympic though, somebody needs to be first. :103631605
